These are made in China and carry the Wilton brand name. They are not manufactured in the USA. In spite of the fact that it was manufactured in China, it's a decent vise for the price. It was really important to me to have a 6 The only thing I am missing is that 8" Wilton journeyman vise, but I was not willing to shell out the $600 and up My laptop is used at home, so for that purpose it is perfect.

The name and the appearance each receive two stars. The quality of the product is deplorably sloppy In this case, the square tube is 50mm square The steel slide is rough, with about 185 RMS of micro finish, and the mating surfaces on the inside of the casing are coated or painted, thus the fit is likely to wear out quickly. There are two two on either side of the back casing nut that secures the nut in place for more slop. The pins are 5mm in diameter. As a result, these design decisions tend to protect the manufacturer from costly warranty claims, while charging the customer 40# in materials. This is junk.
After it arrived, I was worried that it would be too big & heavy Even though it is heavy, I have been able to set it up easily in the limited space I have. Be careful not to fasten it to a cheap or flimsy To make it work, it must have a strong and substantial work surface. Bolts should be heavy to ensure safety. Thankfully, my bearings made a difference after I took them apart to clean them and lube them with wheel bearing grease. You can now feel that it is very precise and powerful. An excellent vice and a dreadful thing to do Quite good value for the money.
A nice and solid product. The coating is nice and strong and it looks good. This thing looks as if it will last forever and then some. It is certainly a plus that this spindle is sealed. I was still not ready to spend $5 on this but it was made in china Perhaps next time, we can get a 600 model made in the United States.
There is no substitute for the quality of Wilton vises they are always worth the price.
It is worth the money spent. My professional experience in the aircraft industry comprises 35 years of working in a factory, and we use this vise on our roller benches in maintenance.
The wilton vises I've been using for years are excellent. This is an awesome product, and this vendor is awesome too.
I was impressed with how well this is made despite being made in China. If this product had been made in the United States, I would have rated it 5 stars. The best one at this price point still remains this one.
