The 5- The bench vise is 33 pounds and measures 12 inches by 12 inches by 12 inches.
Hello, The swivel base, as well as the head, can both rotate 360 degrees.
If you want super quality, Wilton is a great brand to go with. I'm not a pro, so this vise will suffice in my shed. I hope you found this information useful.
Although there is no indexing, the locking screw is very strong, and I haven't had any issues with slipd or anything similar.

I didn't know what size bolts to use when I bought this vise because I couldn't find any information on Amazon or the vise's website. The bolt holes are 1/2", and I used full thread to give myself plenty of room to tighten the nuts. My bench is relatively thin, so I got 2 1/2" bolts, which had enough thread to securely tighten the bolts. Simply measure the depth of your bench, add 1 1/2" (the vise's metal is about 1/2" thick), and you're good to go. I hope this has been of assistance to someone.
Strong and dependable. There are no flaws in the gear system. The rotator adjustments are small and difficult to turn with just your fingers, but this is a minor flaw. The pipe holder is one of my favorites. It's already proven useful in an unexpected situation. This is what I'll say: After clamping a control arm from my truck in place, I removed the old ball joint with a ball joint press. I had to use a 4-foot pole due to the amount of force required. To get the ball joint out, I used a foot pipe as a breaker bar and stood on it. Even when I slammed a 4 lb sledge against the breaker bar, the clamp didn't slip or budge. I'm happy with my purchase.
Does exactly what I was looking for. This is a big, chunky vice, and there have been a few times when I've wished for a bench vice but been able to make do with something else. I wasted an hour this past weekend attempting to bend a 1/4" piece of flat steel. I ordered the vice and didn't even have to bolt it to the bench; it solved my problem in less than 15 minutes (and gave me a nice, clean bend). I'm in ecstasy right now. br>br>I noticed that there were some questions and comments about bolts and bolt sizing above. Because it'll be on my workshop bench, I don't mind if the bolts are a little longer, so I got these 3/8" 16x3 bolts. 5" bolts and a super-strength super-strength superstrength superstre (Normally, I would have gone to Lowes to find bolts, but COVID is going on, and I didn't want to deal with the hassle. ) I try to keep my Lowes visits to a minimum until I have a list of what I need, but I just went there last weekend, so Amazon comes to the rescue:

I've used it to hold things for welding, brazing, pounding on, etc. It's very sturdy and versatile. For a general workshop, this vice is ideal.
The vice is well-made for the price, and it closes precisely and with the desired amount of hold. While this isn't a professional vice, it certainly looks the part and offers all of the features a home user could want. I attached it to the corner of a sturdy workbench, which gives me a lot of flexibility in terms of what I can hold and how I can hold it (by simply rotating the base 90 degrees). The anvil portion has served its purpose and is relatively hard; my only criticism is that the pipe end's jaws are not replaceable, and the design of that end is limited if you want to hold a pipe at 90 degrees because there is a piece blocking that orientation. To be honest, the fact that it revolves makes it a non-starter. issue. Also, I'm still looking for a 5 inch non-slip shoe. Jaw pads are marring because they only appear to be available in 4 or 6 inch sizes.
Naturally, I'd prefer a Very Heavy Duty 6" Capri, but for that price, I can get two of these and they work just fine. It should last a long time, in my opinion.
I didn't get a warranty card or a manual with my order, either.
I was looking for a 5 inch vise that was versatile, and this vise from Forward is an excellent vise at a reasonable price.
