It is appealing due to the Made in USA aspect, the quality of construction, and the magnetic capabilities. So far, there have been no breaks, but it does creak and groan slightly when tightened. This results in metal filings stuck to the magnet, but magnets do work very well. It's an inherent issue with anything magnetic in a shop, just as it is with any other metal. These clamps did the job nicely holding a drill press spindle handle that needed some file work. I have a heavy duty vise, so I'm not sure how tight I can clamp them on with my setup, but I got them tight enough that the handle would not move. I am pleased with my purchase so far.
They have been in my possession for a couple weeks, and they have been a pleasure to use. As far as the work I have done goes, they are not too hard or soft. As the plastic is a plastic, and might heat up a bit, I have taken care not to drill too close to the jaws. I've applied a moderate amount of torque and they hold up well. My satisfaction with how well they hold onto the vise is superior to some other alternatives I have tried.
The pads are very nice. Other folks always describe them as "very strong magnets" and I have found that they are anything but strong. There are a lot of these and they don't stick out from the bottom at all. They are gentle and fragile at the same time, but are also able to clamp down quickly It can't be done with rubber faces outside of light applications since the weight of the work piece can cause it to be mangled away and bumped The layout and design of the piece is excellent.
Improved the sloppiness of my vice, and now I can work on materials that would otherwise be damaged or scratched by the jaws of the vice. We were at the airport in a short amount of time. Packages that are easy to assemble. A simple to use setup process. Magnesium sits flush against the surface of the magnet and is quite strong. It was a nice The angle of a square is 90 degrees. There are a lot of tight tolerances. With no gaps between the jaw faces, the vise has a tightly-fitting jaw system. This product is very highly recommended.
I have a pair of nylon jaws, so these things are a class apart. Undoubtedly a higher level of A magnet that is thicker and larger. They don't seem quite as slippery as before. The few dollars I'd have to spend on these would be well worth it. You can't go wrong with these jaws if you want quality, or if the fact they are made in the USA is significant to you.
My habit is not to write reviews, but I must say that this is an excellent product. I needed something that wouldn't scratch the surface of my parts. Quite a bit of pressure has been applied to the ft-end There was a weight loss of pounds. There was no damage done to the bolt or grip. Definitely recommend it and any gunsmith.
It's a great product. It's well This vice actually achieves exactly what it claims to accomplish, unlike many other products. This is a heavy duty product. It is a good recommendation.
I will be buying more from this company in the future.
