China is where it's made.
It is 11 p.m. when the doors close. Overall length is 25" inches. br>Opened up, it's probably 13 inches or more. br>This is a fantastic vise!
A total of four bolt holes can be found. The front two are 4 1/2" OC, the back pair are 3 3/4" OC, and the front to back row dimension is 4 1/8" OC. br>br>All dimensions are approximate due to the fact that my vice is mounted and I can't measure precisely because my body is in the way. The Wilton 674U is what I have. Use minimum Grade 5, 3/8 inch (or 10 mike if going metric) bolts for securing the structure. Washers should be used on the vice and beneath the mounting structure. It's a pleasant vice, but it's not "industrial" in any way. I mostly do rooty tooty stuff with a light vise. I put it on a portable wood base so I could take it with me wherever I went; I used 3/8" bolts instead of bolts to secure my bench top.

Most importantly, the jaws of the vise are parallel and close along the entire length of the part. The part will be held firmly with minimal clamping pressure thanks to its 5" width. The vise head swivels, making it ideal for holding longer pieces in smaller workshops. . . but when the swivel clamps are tightened, it's sturdy enough for light to medium work. The jaws aren't reversible, but I use aluminum soft-grip pliers to keep them in place. So it's not a big deal if you have jaws. Everything except heavy industrial use is highly recommended for hobbyists.
My only complaint is that if you push on it while it's locked in place, it still moves. Even when it's locked in place, mine moves about a half-inch back and forth. Aside from that, it's a solid vise that does the job.
This is a high-quality vise that arrived undamaged, with no paint flaking or chipping (due to the powder coating), and no rust on the bare metal areas. Jaws are fluid in their movement. The template provided makes mounting simple. In every way, this vise is of the highest quality.
The product is good, but it is a little shaky. There is an excessive amount of backlash movement.
I traded in my Yost 445 for this one, and I'm glad I did. The paint job and quality of the product are far superior. This item also comes with a lifetime warranty, which is well worth the extra $40.
For a home workbench, this is a very nice vise. It's a good size and a good price (I got mine from Amazon's clearance section).
This is a fantastic home shop vise! I use it to do some gunsmithing. br>.
This unit appears to be well-made. So far, my only gripe is that it did not include mounting hardware. Since it's designed to be mounted on a workbench, I think that's a bit silly. Would have been 5 stars if the hardware didn't come with it, which was odd and shocking.
