The hardware you'll need depends on how and where you're going to put it. Over a 1 1/2-inch plywood bench top, I used 3/8-inch machine bolts.
3 7/8" is the largest opening.

Because it only has one rotating clamp, it was not a good purchase for me for my applications that require me to hammer whatever I have in the vice. It's come undone on several occasions. So, either I didn't look at the photos closely enough, or they were deceiving me. Before making this purchase, I did three weeks of comparison shopping. If the single clamp for the base rotation is removed, the rest of the product is excellent. Make-up for materials The clamping force is adequate. Transport - vendor - all good. It's important to remember that there's only one rotational clamp. I'm annoyed with myself because all of my research had led me to believe that no less than two clamps would suffice. I guess I had put in too many hours on the day I decided on this product. I'm not sure how I missed that flaw or omission.
For the price I paid, I am extremely pleased with this product. A vice can be extremely expensive; prices vary depending on the brand or size; however, at the end of the day, it's just a simple tool, and this product is a well-made industrial tool that compares favorably to any other brand on the market. There was no hardware included in the box.
It was $75 when I bought it. It's not the beefiest vice, but it should suffice if I'm not too rough with it. I like how it opens up so wide; it's already proven to be useful.
This vice is an exact replacement for my 20-year-old Crafrsman vise, and I'm very pleased with the quality and workmanship, as well as the price.
It has made my husband very happy. Extremely durable and a great deal. He had to drill new holes, which resulted in his dwalt's motor overheating, but he still likes it.
It looks great in my small shop, and I'm looking forward to using it for a long time.
So far, it's been a good product. It's been in use in my welding shop for a while and has held up well.
