I wanted to get a simple set with magnetic tips for my grandmother so she wouldn't have to fiddle with holding the screw in place just right. These clearly state that they are MAGNETIC. br>br> And they aren't attracted to each other. br>The title says "Magnetic Phillips/Slotted Screwdriver Bit Set," and the description says "Magnetic tip can absorb the screw to prevent loss. "br>br>However, the tips are NOT magnetic. The interior of the quick-change bit holder is the ONLY part that is magnetic. br>br>As long as you aren't looking for magnetic, like I was, it's a great set for the money; however, my expectations were way too high, and I was disappointed.
Due to my lack of familiarity with the specifics of such products, I came to the conclusion that Torx tamper-resistant screws were the best option. Security bits must be universal in order to be proof. After all, I had no idea what a tamper-resistant device was. Bit of proof security I was mistaken, to be sure. This is a five star rating. My MAF sensor screws were six in number, and I used a point bit. point. There was nothing wrong with the product; it was just that I received the incorrect one. br>However, why is this even a thing, as a personal note of frustration? What makes it any less tamper-proof? If someone else can buy the same part for $7 on Amazon, is it proof or secure? I had all of my parts organized and was prepared to work on my Mercedes on a Saturday morning. The job even required the use of safety Torx bits. The Torx bits I had, on the other hand, were 6 point rather than the 5 point required by Mercedes and Porsche - Hello! I couldn't begin the project because I couldn't find a Torx 5 point 15 safety bit (with a small hole in the middle) anywhere in the area. I was lucky enough to come across these on Amazon, which saved the day (ugh - project)! Trox bits arrived in two days, and I was able to finish the project without incident. The bits are well-made, fit perfectly, are reasonably priced in comparison to other options, and allowed me to save hundreds of dollars by allowing me to complete my own repair. Amazon is to be commended.
I've been working on cars for over forty years and was taken aback when the old 2006 Mercedes side mirror presented me with a screw for which I didn't have a tool. These Torx Star (5 point) bits were exactly what I needed to remove the side mirrors, and with two-day shipping, it wasn't worth my time to drive around town looking for them. Unlike some other sets, mine came with all of the correct sizes. I didn't expect (or want) these bits to be magnetic, so they aren't. They're a standard size that fits all of my bit drivers with no problems, and the quality is on par with any other bit set in my toolbox. Thank you very much, KAIFNT.
This is a security bit with a value of 5 (FIVE). It's not a HEX bit with six points. The "T" designation bits make up the six point security bits. This bit is labeled with the letter "TS. " The TS27 is PERFECT for my 5 point Security bolt. These aren't easy to come by. Security bits in HEX format can be found all over the place. I'm overjoyed that I was able to obtain the appropriate tool for the job. It's the right size. 5 STARS ALL THE WAY AROUND!.
Amazon delivered once more. The most cost-effective solution to my problem was these bits. Volvo uses this unusual "tamper-proof" screw to deter customers from replacing the MAF sensor themselves and saving money on labor costs. These bits save the cost of buying driver sets with handles for the backyard mechanic who already has basic nut drivers and/or a 1/4" rachet. In less than 15 minutes, I had the sensor removed, cleaned, and reinstalled. Even though I'm unlikely to use these parts again, it was money well spent. Around ten dollars was spent.
I received a great impact screwdriver, but it only came with one bit! This is where this bit set came in handy. These are high-quality bits that come in a variety of sizes and shapes to suit a wide range of requirements. I've had great success using these with my impact driver to tighten and loosen some tight screws. The holder prevents the bits from getting lost, and I'm very pleased with my purchase, which I use frequently.
This set was purchased in order to replace the mass air flow sensor in my vehicle. I bought these in March, but the weather in North Dakota wasn't warm enough to change them until May. br>br>When I tried to remove the mass airflow sensor with these, they wouldn't even work! The hole was too small for the torque wrench to fit through and turn it! In the end, I chose A-. 1 Auto on purchasing a new set, which is exactly what they should have done in the first place because these are worthless! It's too late for me to return this useless piece of trash now! br>br>I'd go to A- if I were you. Buy a set from 1 Auto or somewhere similar and save yourself the time and money of having to order this set!.
