Questions & Answers

Are these compatible with 1/4" stainless steel screws that are corroded?

These just did a good job of removing a 1/4-inch round hole Corrosion had blackened 20 stainless flat head screws that were set into an aluminum sheet. In addition, when I attempted to use the #4 tool, which is supposed to be strong enough to remove 3/8" fasteners, it too broke with very little effort. Since the heads were big enough, I tried using the #2 tool as well, but it did not succeed. The tools should certainly not make miracles for me, but I expect that they will strip the fastener head before they break. They don't stand up to the hardest jobs, and I wouldn't recommend them in that regard.

License plate bolts don't seem to be of the grade I expected. There are four with broken heads in my collection. Do you think this kit will hold up?

It is not recommended to use any heavier bolts than grade 4. These extractors are the best. I removed broken steel bolts that the head had stripped out. It's really easy if you just follow the instructions!

My fender has bolts that need to be removed. I need this to do that. Do you think this is ?

A presoaking with WD-40 is essential, depending on the bolt size Using 40 to break down rust, loosen the screws first with a wrench if they're under 1/4" in diameter, or pre-drill for quicker results The air drill is too powerful and will strip out the remover head. Drill with an electric drill and use the remover head.

I was able to remove a stuck, chewed up piece with no problems The machine screws had to be tightened up
5/5

In a nutshell My old car had six machine screws, so I removed six of them with this. The six were painted over and stuck fast. On the first three, I first removed the paint, then tried everything I could think of to remove them, but none of it worked. I left the first three of them completely alone until this product arrived, and that's which you see me removing in the video. The third one I used the product on until it arrived, and this is the one that I removed. Because of this, I appear to be working with an old The only thing that will work is this. I used a wrench to manually apply force after the hole had been drilled and the second bit was in place. The screws were stuck so tightly that my drill couldn't remove them, so I had to use a torque wrench after the hole was drilled and the second bit was in place. did not even attempt to use the drill to remove the second part, I just held the bit in place with my fingers and proceeded to remove it with With the help of the screwdriver, I have removed six screws. The bit looks to be in perfect condition and can be reused.

This year, we missed six chances, which equals a 100% failure rate
3/5

I don't think they're worth the price. Having a mechanical bent is very important to me. The other end of every single bit that I have used to drill out screws has not caught the screw. In soft metal, I couldn't drill any deeper than I did in a hard metal. It was a disappointment to see Ron Hazelton go down this road. The EZ Outs and other similar products I regularly use to remove broken screws and bolts. There are plenty of fake reviews on here, and most of them are just inaccurate.

JUNK!.

In reading some of the reviews, I wasn’t sure how well this product would work on my stripped bolt but decided to take a chance
5/5

I'm very glad I did. The bolt was extracted after cutting the bit for 30 seconds and inching into the driver with the gripping bit. It was running fairly slowly at a fairly slow speed using my Bosch driver on this extractor. It took about 30 seconds to switch to the gripping bit after using the cutting In order to make sure I did not put too much pressure on either side of the tool, when using the gripping bit, I leaned heavily into the driver. I was able to finish my project without having to deal with stuck bolts when the stripped bolt came out. In my opinion, the price was definitely worth it.

Worked like a charm! On one of my garage doors, I noticed that the screws fastening the hinge had stripped
5/5

It had phillips head screws that rounded out at the ends. It took me four screws on the frame side and four screws on the door side to remove. Two of the screws were rounded, one on the door side and one on the frame side. These are machine screws that went into both steel doors and steel frames. I received this item yesterday and tried it out on a three inch drywall screw and a four inch machine screw, both of which I screwed into 2x8 scraps. No issues were encountered as I extracted each screw! The next day, I tested it on the front door, and it worked great! There was no easier way to do it! If you want to remove screws or bolts, just stop trying to use a rubberband, or steel wool, just stop trying to remove them. The problem will be solved if you buy this. There aren't enough words to describe how awesome this product is!.

I was able to accomplish exactly what was demonstrated
5/5

Having read many reviews on several different screw extractors, I decided on this one based on what some reputable tool publications and forums said it could do. This is my first time using an extractor, but I think these seem hefty and convenient. I am not a chemist, so I guess I have to trust manufacturers when they claim the metal they use will last. It would be a good idea to make a target in the center of the broken screw using a center punch. Therefore, you will not have to worry about the extractor bit running even slightly astray and potentially clogging the threads of the hole that the shank is inserted into.

I enjoyed this set a lot
5/5

You'll be glad you have them for those times when you need to replace a stripped screw. These were the same screws I had bought for myself when installing new vinyl railing a year earlier, and I had stripped a couple of them. You can follow the instructions very well and the program will work as described. From then on, they've been occupying space in my toolbox. When the TV repair person came over to fix my set, he noticed there was a stripped screw on the cabinet. It was easy to use so I got these out and showed him. In the absence of them, either I would have been left with a set not repaired or the screw would have been drilled out. On the day in question, he was heading to the store to order a set. My son's birthday was just around the corner, so I bought them each their own set The law. I find this tool to be extremely useful. Despite the fact that it probably won't be of much use to the average person every day, when you find yourself with a stripped screw, you will Throughout my years of tool use, I have spent countless hours on stripped screws. It takes about 15 seconds to remove a stripped screw once you know how to use them.

The tool was of good quality and got the job done
5/5

It took me a lot of time and effort to search for screw extraction products. All of the sites ran their tools through an extensive test, but there were a couple that really put these tools to the test. There was consistently a superior product from Alden, with superior metal used for the extractors, and was easy This is a great tool, and I highly recommend it. You will not regret purchasing them.

This is junk
3/5

I have to agree with those who said that these were junk, since I got mine to work for a few weeks, but When you are making a drill bit you will need to use a hard metal if you want to extract the stripped screw. There is a lot of softness in these. When you heat up a screw and its bit, they just melt. There are now three metal nubs on my shelf, and they cost $25 each. The recycle center might be able to help me make some money again.
