What you see in the picture is what I got. The adapter secures a 3-/8 to a 1/2 stud. Extension of 6 inches is not accurate.
Selected User Reviews For Sunex 2303 1/2-Inch Drive 1/2-Inch Female by 3/8-Inch Male Super Adapter
On several television shows about cars, I noticed that Sunex products were advertised or used. For the first time, I have purchased one of their products. Despite its age, this Sunex 2303 1/2" X 3/8" adapter was "Prime," it arrived on time, and it appeared to be new. After the adapter was used for the first time, the 3/8" male stud sheered off where it meets the main body of the female 1/2" socket. There was immediate disappointment in what I thought would be an outstanding product that would at least last beyond the first time it was used. This piece was broken with a hand force, not by an impact. Normally, MOs are designed to hold up well to hand torque, so the problem is most likely a manufacturing defect. I've requested a refund, and will return the There is no way to know what caused this defect, but Sunex should resolve it as soon as possible.
I was a bit concerned at first, because it seems to be a newer one. (I work in a commercial repair shop as an auto tech. continued to hold up well enough. I were able to hammer on it with a gun that was affixed with extra "ugga duggas" and it still survived!.
So I bought this adapter to use with my impact wrench because I needed a 1/2 x 3/8 male adapter. In contrast to the current one, this one had a flat spring detent ball instead of a nice chamfer, so I had to use a small screwdriver every time I needed to remove an attachment. This one has been sitting on my desk for a couple weeks, and I really like the feel of the ball detent.
Having used this adapter on my impact driver many times so far, I can tell you it's still as good as the day I first used it. I've always had good luck with Sunex brand tools. There is no sign of wear or twist. It fits well and is a I would check to see if there was a warranty on the bearing, and purchase or order the same exact bearing again if it suddenly broke.
The construction is excellent, the finishing is excellent, and the build is strong. My experience with it has been very positive, and I've used it on numerous jobs with an electric impact without a hitch. Using the detent hole or the other two sides for removal from a pin type drive anvil is easy.
An adapter with a sturdy build. There is a ridge machinated into its circumference to make it easy to remove from a ratchet or breaker bar, or to remove the socket from the adapter without having to use both parts of the.
I would have bent most adapters and snapped them if I had put them through these conditions. I was cranking on a cross while it held solid, although I was inclined to snap it It has a five foot cheater bar to attach to the lug bolt.
It turns out I bought the wrong product. I bought what I thought was 1/2 X 3/8 impact socket adapters 2303 from Sunex but was sent a 1/4 X 3/4 item In both cases the shipping labels correctly identifies the products as 1/2 X 3/8 adapters, but the factory tags incorrectly identify them as 1/2 X 3/8 adapters. For the sake of avoiding any further conflict, I reordered the correct version from another manufacturer.
