Questions & Answers

Is this as good as the Wiss Snips that splicers used to use back in the 1960s? There were no dull edges on this machine, and it would cut anything. ?

In my opinion, Wiss Snips (sheet metal shears) will not cut a penny in half unless you nibble your way through it.

Is it strong enough to cut through ?

They are sharp, so they are made from very thin copper. It is best not to buy anything 20 or 18 since they can be dull very fast. Rather than cut telephone wire, these are actually designed to do that. The software I use at work is used for a number of things

Do you get a case with it?

You don't get a case with them. I find them to be very useful

Can you tell me how big the scissors are?

It says the product is five and a quarter inches, and that would be It's a great pair of i have a pair that i use for all sorts of things and have had them for years.

The good old days were just like that
5/5

These scissors were issued to me by Ma Bell when I first started working for the company in the mid 1960s. Because they were so mechanically sound and the steel was strong enough to cut a quarter in half, they were able to perform this feat. The first thing I did with this pair was just that. There was no disappointment for me. Half of that quarter was cut in half as effortlessly as if it were clockwork. As a result of that little experiment, I concluded that the quality of these scissors had not declined over the past five.

My job is a mechanic and I do a lot of electrical diagnostics
5/5

These scissors are useful for opening wire harnesses quite often. Those things are devilish to unwrap, and you're better off cutting them open in most cases instead of trying to unwrap them from fabric tape. I have no idea which sick person decided to start wrapping fabric tape around vehicle harnesses. A special tool is needed for cutting through thick tape, but it breaks constantly when it tries to do so. That stuff as well as standard plastic wraps don't pose a problem for these. This tool has a blunt tip, which means it's less likely to cut a wire in the harness when you're slicing open the tape to put on the tape. These knives were made in the US, are of exceptional quality/sturdiness, and are In fact, these are very reasonably priced considering the other guys who own these bought them for upwards of $40 off the tool truck. There are a few pairs in the shop that are over a decade old and are still being used regularly, but mine are just a couple months old. Although you probably need two pairs of these to open the plastic container they were packed in, that's the only complaint about them, and the scissors themselves are excellent.

There is no such thing as a perfect snip
5/5

snips are one of the most important tools I use at work since I'm a tech for a communications company. My work over the last 20 years has involved a wide variety of tools, both hardware and software. Among my many snips, these Klein snips are the best. They hold up exceptionally well for their size and keep their sharpness for extended periods of time. I have tried other forms of snips and was not pleased. There was a pair I had with an elongated handle section, usually with some kind of plastic gripper, and I hated them. As soon as you tighten the blades, you adjust the screw, so I always had to adjust my regular pair of Ideal snips. Using these is simply not a mistake.

Nearly everything about it is perfect
5/5

The scissor is one of the best on the market for the price. These knives stay sharp for longest possible life (even when they undergo harsh and continuous use), and are almost One negative point I would like to mention is a slight one, but it would be remiss of me not to add it As a result, they are a little uncomfortable, since they are entirely made from However, this allows even people with large hands such as myself to use the utensils without losing any space, since the rubber coating on the handles won't interfere with placement. If you've done any electrical work in the past, these are a great pair of scissors, and if you're just starting out, they are a great investment. My favorite brand and type of mascara are the ones I use to this day.

The cutters can be used both for general cutting tasks as well as for cutting wire
5/5

In addition to cutting wires and stripping them occasionally, we also cut plastic packaging, fabric, paper, and everything else in between/all the time, and found that electrical scissors were the best scissors for most of the stuff we cut. The best thing about this cutter is that it can be used like a regular pair of scissors or held in the palm for more intense In addition to building tool kits for our employees, we purchased the Klein Free Fall Snips 2100-H to aid in cutting things in the office I have an Fluke Network D Snipping 8 and a Fluke Network 3D Snipping Kit. Other snips are intended to be used by a very small device like If not held in the palms, Klein's version can be gripped both ways, but the finger holes are a bit small. Since the finger holes on the Fluke are placed in the palm, it can only be held comfortably in that position, but it is actually the most useful of all scissors in that position.

All these scissors would be suitable for your task, it just depends on what you are trying to accomplish.

The quality is high, the price is low, and the value is great
5/5

The kind of scissors that should work as they are supposed to. Taking that for granted is not an option. There have been quality scissors made for a long time. There have been pitchers and measuring cups for a long time that poured easily and without liquid running down the side (not to mention pyramids). But we seem to be losing the ability to build/manufacture many There are a few basic things you need for working with scissors, such as high quality scissors. It's a good thing that these scissors are built properly. In addition to being sharp, they also possess the necessary spring tension to hold the two blades against one another. My opinion is that these are well worth the price.

Almost everything is cut through with it
5/5

With this set of scissors, I was able to trim parts of punched out copper shapes (using a pancake die at 24 gauge). When it comes to cutting directly through sheet copper, it does not appear to be very effective for trimming burrs from shapes. Though I am not sure it is designed for what I am using it for (jewelry design), I am still rating it five stars because it does a good job on silver and copper wire, so I can use it there. It might be a great idea for someone else since I don't possess a great deal of strength in my hands. The price is really outstanding as well. I will "borrow" a pair of Wiss shears from my husband until I find one that does everything I need to do. He has a pair of those with thin gauge copper, so that will be the pair I'll keep borrowing until I find something better. The only thing I regret is that I bought these.

The scissors in this picture are for men
5/5

There should be one of these in every toolbox, backpack, home utility drawer, and truck storage. With this scissor, you can do everything. Metals lighter than aluminum may be cut by it. In summary, it will cut everything you need, is easy to handle, strips wires, is super sturdy, will last forever, and If you only ask one question, it should be "how should I buy?". There are four of me. The Klein is a good buy too. This is the one to buy, even if another brand happens to be of equal quality.
