Questions & Answers
The answer is yes, as I would assume. It's unclear whether there is a smaller holster available
I would think it would be difficult, since it's really well made and to keep the shears in place, it's quite tight.
Is designed to fit XShears perfectly. It does not for the *other* brand.
On your belt, it is held in the vertical position by the clip.

We believe this is the best overall holster / holder / sleeve you can find It is the only way I have found Due to the fact that my XSHEARS were wearing out in my thigh pockets, I started my search. They poked through the bottom of my pants very quickly, especially when I was kneeling. In my testing of holsters (including the XSHEARS own), I found that many failed to maintain retention (shears falling out), were of poor quality, or were of This is not the same as that. I have seen such a difference since I bought this product. Due to its thickness and stiffness, the leather is a very good choice Shears won't wear through thick leather, so they don't need to be sharp. Upon insertion, it immediately formed around the points of extra pressure like the tip of the shears, and because there is no movement or friction between the shears and the holster, no wear is evident. leather has good retention on the XSHEARS as well, which is another benefit of stiff, thick leather. I don't deal with shears like a gymnast, and the shears would stay in no matter how good I was! It does mean, however, that if you carry in your pocket like I do, you do need to be aware of the way you pull the shears out because if you just pull them out, the holster clip will release before the shears. The can be removed by one hand if you make sure that you don't stray from the correct procedure. A curved or angled blade of a trauma shear can be securely attached due to the shape (almost like an inverted hourglass). If you're a belt carry kinda guy, this can be great for you. This is the preferred location for me to carry it in an EMS setting. I flip it over and clip it across the interior of my thigh or calf (see my picture). There is no reason to be concerned about the durability of this product since both the stitching and the leather seem to be excellent. I like that this is fairly priced, so I see it as a win-win for me. I think it's a great deal because you can get a high quality product for a really good price.
In my Go Bag, I bring Trauma shears, and thus, I would be considered a "casual user" of the I had another brand of holster in my Go Bag that used a long strip into the eye of the shears that was tapped into the velcro on the side of the holster to secure the shears. It would be acceptable to wear the shears that way if you were not going to wear them on your waist. It can be a pain in the neck to put your shears in that holster when you need them in a hurry if you are an EMT. Here we have the Hip Clip, a holster that comfortably clips to your hip. Mouse trap built better than anything I've seen before. There is nothing special about this, but it obviously took some time for someone to develop something that should be very basic and useful. As this holster was designed by a doctor, it should be an excellent choice for most EMTs. not made with cow hyde, but is made from leather. I expect that it will relax and loosen over time and use, but presently it clings tightly to the Trauma shears. There is a removable metal clip on the top of the clip. The only reason I give the holster a 4 star review is because I have the X Shears (great product) and they fit snugly in the holster except they don't go all the way in (maybe 98% of the way?). It is because they have a curve to them, and the holster will not accommodate that curve. To use the shears, you must maneuver them to allow the tops of the scissors to pass the tops of the holsters. It is possible that this issue (which is minor, but deserves to be highlighted) is unique to the X Shears, and that it is not relevant to other standard Trauma shears. As a side note, this issue might become moot with time and use, especially if you're an EMT who uses his (or her) shears a lot. Recommended with caveats.
My Raptors are no slouch either, since they are all the rage right now. I like the Raptors, but I hate how heavy they are. When I untie my scrub pants at the urinal, the Raptors pull my pants There hasn't been an ER incident where I saw something where the Raptors could be used but the trauma sheers from North American Rescue couldn't be used. As a result, I purchased this holster and now wear it on the small of my back under my pants. The couch is very As I mentioned earlier, I still keep the Raptors in my bag while I'm at practice. The holster is designed for use in hospitals and tactical medicine, but the ER is an ideal place for it. The Batclip that I compared with was not as good as this one. I highly recommend it, although I could not make a direct comparison.
In my job as an emergency physician in a busy trauma center, I see tons of tricks people use for carrying their trauma shears. There's no need to use a Kelly clamp + roll of tape thing. It damages the edges of scrubs, bumps against your body all day, and is There is a metal clip fastened to the back of the holster that can clip any belt or pocket to this holster, so you can use it with any standard trauma shear. Getting some smirks (neeeerrrrrrrrd alert!) but I'm sure they'll forget it in a few days.
This is perfect for right-handed as well as left-handed users! It even comes with a lifetime warranty, so that's great! (Thank you for thinking of us lefties). The makers obviously believe in what they are developing if this is the case. Just a hope for the future of these products - I hope they will be able to fit in the small of your back, by adding 2 small belt loops or small metal clips would be fantastic.
I guarantee you will not find a better shear holster than this one! I like it a lot I clip this to my pants and it stays there the entire shift because it is lightweight and sturdy. You also get a lifetime warranty when you purchase this product. Since a lot of scrub pants claim to have pockets or straps or sleeves for your shears, but none of them really hold your shears, it makes good business sense for the company to be owned and operated by an ER physician who knows the struggles of the field. I cannot recommend this highly enough.
Having to buy a holder for my xshears because the official one is a bit pricey and does not seem to be that effective based on reviews, I bought this. There are some similarities between these and the bat clips for the stethoscope, but there is none of the security you get with the bat clips. As a medic I am constantly changing jobs and my shears have fallen out twice. Since xshears are not cheap, you might consider something else if you do not want to lose your good shears.
