Sure, why not? It's a punch, with one end of the barrel narrowed to a point in the middle. The other is flat and serves as a shock absorber when a hammering blow is delivered.
They do! They are ideal for dotting.
There is a small chamfer around the outside diameter, so it isn't quite perfect. I'm not sure how precise you need these circles to be or what medium you're using to paint them on. It would resemble a circle, in my opinion. I'm assuming you're going to use it as a stamp. If I were you, I'd look for a pre-packaged assortment of wooden dowels for the same price as these punches.

In general, I don't write reviews for bad products, but I'll make an exception in this case. br>br>This set is a useless heap of scrap metal; I am a professional machinist with 25 years of experience in the trade, and you'd think I'd be a little wiser than that to fall for this nonsense! Oh, and the plastic base serves as a good drill holder, so it's not a complete loss.
These were purchased to create mandalas on rocks. They were cheap and had good reviews from other rock decorators, so I bought them. My purchase has satisfied me. Following the order, these arrived on time. br>br>NOTE: if you're looking for a unique way to express yourself, this is the place to be They are grease-coated, and the grease can be removed with dish soap and water, followed by a paper towel wipe. The plastic base does not need to be washed, but if you do, keep the screws in a safe place so they don't get lost or roll away. br>br>NOTE: if you're looking for a unique way to express yourself, this is the place to be These appear to be powder coated, and when I ran my thumb over the bases to make sure they were flat (for mandala painting), I discovered a few that weren't, so I lightly sanded them with fine grit wet/dry sandpaper and they quickly returned to flat. The hammer ends (not the pointy end) are slightly beveled; I didn't bother to sand the bevels because they looked and felt fine. br>br>NOTE: I followed another reviewer's advice and mixed the largest punch in with my other dotting tools, moving each punch up one hole to make them slide out of their slightly larger holes more easily. Additional information: br>br> Wipe the paint off these punches before putting them back in their rack, as the paint will dry on the tool and you won't be able to get flat ends unless you go back to the sandpaper for a much more thorough cleaning. Of course, you should do this with all of your painting tools.
The points rounded off on the third hit when I used these on standard low grade A36 plate. They're not made of tool steel, and they're not hardened either. They might work fine for making marks on aluminum, but they're useless on steel.
Take a look at the image. I discovered that the center punch on the 9/64 was off center when I tried to use it for the first time today. It can't be used to accurately transfer a hole. Given the price, I was expecting some sort of shoddy metallurgy, but this isn't even suitable for soft materials because the hole is positioned incorrectly. I'm very dissatisfied with the outcome.
This punch set is fantastic. The points are still razor-sharp and haven't dulled in the least. On wood, I use. I'm not sure how well they'd hold up against metal, though. The backside hasn't mushroomed in the least, and the punches are still very strong. I'd recommend it!.
I ultimately decided to make my own out of wood. I use the punches as a gauge for their diameters because they're sturdy. They were slightly filthy when they arrived. Punches appear to have a lot of force behind them.
parts that have been removed The pin punches have a very precise diameter, which makes them ideal for hole location transfer. The pin punch holder is tough and can withstand a lot of mistreatment. Thank you for getting in touch.
