' Like: There's a wide range of punch sizes, some of which I may never use, but the ones I have have more than paid for the purchase price because I'm not having to bore holes larger than necessary to get the bolts to line up. I'd probably buy a more expensive set if I worked in an industrial environment and needed more durability. For what I'm doing, these are perfectly adequate. br>Dislike: I'm not sure; I've only recently begun using them, so we'll have to see how long they last.
I believe the punch will work well for the most part. Use a low blow of the hammer to make a small mark on the metal leaves, then use a regular marking punch to make the mark deeper. I used it on a 1/2 inch hole and a 3/8 hole, and they fit perfectly. time ago.
The answers to the questions that have been posed for me are guesses. Precision is essential. awestruck In terms of using them as a hobby, I believe they were a good value. The variety of sizes is appealing to me. If I were a high-end machine shop, I'd investigate further before making a purchase. They appeal to me as a hobby application.
I've used these a few times now, and they're great for both wood and steel. With a BFH, however, you can't beat them. The metal holder is nice, and the assortment is great. I would purchase this item again.
I'd been meaning to do it for a while but hadn't gotten around For the time being, my holes must be on target. Good quality and a wide range of sizes are available. Any toolbox should have one of these.
Finding the center of a bolt hole to mount things can take a lot of time when I'm building things, but these make it a lot easier.
After marking the location with the punch, drilling and tapping the hole drilled, this tool was used to locate the position of the hole to be drilled and ensure that the position was within specification.
Great. They're fantastic for curves and circles parts in my metal earth models, which I use them for.
