I measured the weight of the hammer on my kitchen scale and it was six pounds. A pound and a half. My ruler indicates both brass and nylon heads are equal 0. I did not pull out my calipers, but I eyeballed with my ruler. The diameter of the circle is 75 inches It measures approximately 21/32 inch diameter across the striking area of the brass head. A bit over 7 inches in length, it is well-suited to driving the punches with which it comes when working with
Inches were measured in 1/8 punches, which measured 4 1/8 inches. A 1/16 in punch measures 2 7/8 in by 6 1/4 in whereas a 5/16 in punch measures 6 1/4 in by 5/16 in
As well as the product, you will also receive installation punches.
All of those things are included in this package. Punches and hammer are the only items

Two of mine showed some signs of rust, but they weren't a big deal since I oiled them all down and got rid of that. The punches aren't the best quality you can get, but they are ok for the price. There is no need to buy individual tools since this set is much cheaper than buying them separately****I greatly value reviews when I make purchases so I review each item I purchase for my personal or business use on Amazon so other people considering it might have more information. This is a well-proven concept but it's not ready for prime time An elegantly designed and well-thought-out kit, but its execution does not match its conception. Standard operating procedures for manufacturers. The punches are made in China, and are finished coarsely, and many of the smaller punches are not oriented straight, a condition caused by the difficulty involved in removing them all from the starter However, if the punches are used with care and the matching starter punches are used, the punches can be made to work adequately. Make sure the smaller punches have a small flat surface in order to minimize bending There is a tip screwdriver in the case, with which you can most easily remove the punches from their enclosure. There is no doubt in my mind that this kit would have been much more expensive had these defects not been present. Alternatively, while you may be able to find other, better-funded alternatives There are several machined and finished assortments on the market, but Wheeler's appears to be the only one to include a hammer, a case, and the most commonly used driving and starter punches. There is no doubt that Wheeler's Quality Control department dropped the ball, but all that really matters is U. S. As well as the manufacturer, the consumer has been let down.
When I received the smallest three roll pin punches they were all bent. China's garbage is basically what they are. The ones you typically use for handgun gunsmithing are the ones you use to push roll pins through the width of the pistol. Your roll pin punch needs to be straight or else this task is more challenging. If you zoom into the product photo on Amazon, you'll see those are bent, too. I didn't notice that when I purchased them, but if you zoom into the photo, you can see those are bent as well. These are not items I would buy Check out another site if you are reading this.
In the past few days, I have already used the kit to hammer in a few roll pins on a lower build for my firearms. The roll pin starters are a very nice addition to the complete set and they work as expected. was a bit hesitant about this game, since other people complained about certain punches being bent in reviews. With the exception of one punch, all of my punches were straight as an arrow when they arrived in the mail. I needed it for my forward assist roll pin, which was an ironic coincidence. I was able to use it regardless of its not perfectly straight state. I'm sure there are high quality punches out there made of nicer steel that come straight and trued, and that are made of very high grade steel. I get the job done with the Wheeler kit and it's much cheaper than those punches, which are likely to cost at least twice as much, if not more. For its intended use, I'm quite satisfied with it. To be fair, if you have a vise, I would simply push the bent punches into the vise to straighten them out, and then go on from there.
I really like this set, which is all contained inside a sturdy hard There are many sizes available for a lot of different roll pins and it has a good selection of sizes. In my search, I examined the costs for mallets and roll punches that are of lesser known brands. When I bought them separately, I had lower overall customer ratings while also paying for them separately All in all, it makes sense to get the Wheeler set.
Tape was on the box, and it appeared to be brand The Amazon cross-platform marketplace When I shipped the replacement, I found two punches bent, but every other punch was in good condition. With two sets of problems, I was able to make just Regarding quality, I do not know how they will hold up over time, but I used them as gas tube pins and trigger guard pins on an AR build and they worked flawlessly. For the shadetree gunsmith these should be good enough for high production, but probably for high production shops these would be better.
It is a very good deal for all that you get. It is obvious that these tools are designed for occasional use by DIYers only and are not durable enough to be used daily. The aim of which is well suited to my purposes. If you want to have what you need without breaking the bank, I highly recommend these.
It would have been better to avoid ordering them if I knew they were made in China, so that I would not have to return them. Tools are among the number of products you should not buy from China, anyone who knows about them knows why. It is a great kit if you are just trying to do a couple quick builds, and it costs less than 40 bucks so it might work best for you. While I am not interested in owning disposable tools, I would rather invest a little more money for quality that I can count.
