Whether it is forged or finished, it is an impressive piece of equipment. They are hard to come by these days. The majority are made of stamped steel that will wear out, bend, peen over, or simply stop working after a short time. This is more expensive than steel stampings, but it will still be here when I am gone and will still be working just fine. A+++.
Due to the arbor being really wedged into the machine as it has been for the last 15 years or so, I decided to use this tool. We had to remove the OEM drift because it wasn't able to do the job. It took a bit of time to get it out. I put the drift in the slot, smacked it with a 5lb dead blow hammer, and out it Simple to use Easy peasy. I highly recommend it.
The arbor I had been using in my drill press was virtually inaccessible- I had almost given up on it- I had problems with the OEM tool (delta) because the material was too soft and destroyed itself instead of giving way to the arbor. My drift just made deep notches. It took me less than 30 seconds to get this hard, correctly shaped drift in my hand, and I was chuck and arbor ready in hand. This is a fantastic.
It has a rustic finish instead of a polished one. The product is excellent and I would purchase it.
Initially, I was worried it was going to be too little, but once it was done, I just hated that I wasted my money for two seconds. * I really like it now the trick is to not lose it.
I really liked how it worked! The product worked well for me on my midriff This drill press is from the 1980s.
It does just what it has.
