I'd like to introduce to you the Mayhew Tools 61360 Pro Knurled Brass Drift Punch Set, 3-pc. A piece of that size would be acceptable. Since it is made of brass, it is ideal for preventing scratches/marring. It depends on the type of motorcycle, though, what size punch is appropriate.
A large one is 8" long and 3/4" in diameter, a medium one is 7" long and 1/2" in diameter, and a small one is 6" long and 3/8" in diameter.
Also owned the 3/4 size, which was not available on their site at that time. The 5 pc set wasn't available at the time.
The drift punch consists of a tapered rod, and the hammer is used to act on the large end of the rod. In the drift punch, the long [thin] end of the tool fits into the semi-circular slot The bolt holes of two separate components were aligned, and the bolts were then driven into the holes. This type of punch does NOT belong under the term "drift". Pin punches are exclusively used for this purpose. There is no taper to these.

My favorite thing about it was that it looked like a good product. It is hard to make a bad A good thing about the set was that it came in 3 What was my dislike? I disliked the item that was missing from my set when it arrived. My inability to verify the quality of the piece did not make it any better than the other pieces in the set. Where did I use it? What purpose did I serve? The tool was intended to be used for driving axles out of pallet jacks, but I failed to accomplish that task because I hadn't received the punch I had ordered. The pieces that did arrive seemed to be of good quality. I cannot place blame on the product quality. Since I could not use them and then return them, I am unable to comment on the quality of those In my review, Amazon will not permit me to write anything that does not relate to the product. The set should arrive when the replacement shipment is received, so I expect to give it a try.
Even after hitting the central portion of the abrasion multiple times with Kroil over several days, the center part would not move. Against the advice of a local turbo builder, I bought these drifts, clamped the turbine housing in a vice, and started working on the center section with the heavy mallet and the middle punch A drift of a particular size. I began working in each direction and eventually the center of the circle began moving and I was finally able to fix it Put it on the clock. It's great to hear that the drift is still in excellent shape, and there were no damages to the center sections. Regardless of what these things cost, they were far, far cheaper than the alternative in my case, but from my research, they appeared to be competitively priced and well-made Construction has begun.
The price is good, and the product works A brass punch set can be a source of complaints, but how? Over time, they will become messed up since they are made of BRASS, and they are hit Any negative comments here can be ignored, so don't give them any attention. A jet mechanic would tell you that.
Now that I have these I can follow instructions that actually call for brass punches, like (if you don't use a brass punch, you will damage the surface or cause sparks). They look good but I'll update this review in 30 years.
Only a small number of tools are still made in the United States. In many other tool companies, China is now the dominant market. Does it matter what the difference is? Without a doubt. Any products made in the United States are hard to find these days. A Mayhew tool is still made with quality in mind.
A set of brass punches is a necessity for every person When I was an equipment mechanic, I used as many sets as I could and beat on this one too many times. I purchased this set to replace one I bought in the early 80s. I find the size of this punch set to be perfect for my general home usage.
It might seem strange but Mayhew makes some very high-quality products, so I wasn't afraid to try this set. It was a wonderful experience to be able to purchase all six books for a little more than $30 shipped, but even at the regular purchase price they are still wonderful. My glasses are well made and a bit heavier than I was expecting, so they should be perfect for what I need. Although there are always cheaper alternatives available, these are still made in the USA and still competitively priced. Investing the extra money in those areas, I believe, is worth it.
I received exactly the drifts I ordered. This is a good quality product. It is made in the U. S. A. It is a fair price for the quality and mass of the product. These items are used in 4 wheel drive front differentials to hammer in CV axles. There is only one complaint I have If the lengths were different, it would be more interesting I would like the largest drift to be maybe six inches longer and the middle drift to be maybe two inches longer The added 3" makes the length of the pants 3". The 3-piece set will be more versatile with this added versatility. Care must be taken to wear gloves when handling these- be sure to wear latex or nitrile gloves. You will lead by your own hands if you do not. If you want to wash your hands afterward, do so.
