This has been the best software I have ever used. Since years ago I have bought the cheapest tools and I am finding that they have been wastes. Everything I have had from Starrett has exceeded expectations. I found that this punch works well in finding my x and keeps the edge.
The punch point on the metal sheet was subtle and strong, but I wanted it to stand out. As such, I am giving it I have not used it on wood, so I cannot say if it works better.
As you have seen, it is a center punch, and it makes a good indentation to begin drilling the hole at The special thing about this center punch is the fact that I was able to get A center punch was not available at any of the three hardware stores I visited before looking on Amazon. A few of the stores had such items as- They are called automatic punches, and they have two major drawbacks As a result, they are more expensive and it is impossible to pinpoint exactly where an indentation will be made. There is a deception on Amazon they show a set of two, but you will only receive one punch. However, I did take a star off my rating due to the mis-lead, so I was able to draw any reader's attention to it The picture shows It could not be a better.
There is also a weighty punch. Aluminum stamping is made much easier with this product!.
This one and the Klein 66310 for about the same price weren't appealing to me, so I bought them There is no comparison between the Starrett and the Delta. It has a sharp point and a knurled grip, which makes it more suitable for.
It is my intention to only purchase Starrett punches in the future however, this one was terrible. When steel is hit with cold rolled tip, it is I am hurt. I tested it again with a different punch and sure enough it was not heat treated correctly. I have to return it.
You will know it will hold up to the hammer blows and provide you with the accurate center mark you are looking for. It is the correct way to make tools.
The sizes I bought were small and medium. It has a good look and a good knurl for holding, and it leaves a good mark on the ground. When I punched metals such as steel and cast they did not mushroom at the point.
