In the Starrett box it comes in, it says
A set of five center punches was the price I paid for my punches. This is shown in the online Starrett catalog # 30 (2002) and confirmed in the printed version. My guess is that a mistake was made when setting up the item at Amazon (no offense intended). The tool should appear to be Starrett, so there's no problem as far as quality is concerned. There are only part numbers listed for each compartment on the red flexible plastic case, but not any As for the punches, there are no part numbers attached to them, but their size is determined by the part number In this schematic, 117AA is 1/16", 117-A is 5/64", 117-B is 3/32", 117-C is 1/8", & 117-D is 1/24" A 117d equals five and a third". It is well worth the investment to buy a set of these tools.

As far as I can recall, I had the B model of this set, it came free in a box of made-by-FEDCO clothes Like in the past 30 years, they use drill bits. This was the only center punch I had for 30 years, and when I moved the flagpole the other day, I lost it. It broke my heart. There were two brands that came up in the search for "Center Punch Made in USA. ". Despite getting the same name I had before, I went with a different set this time around. There is no change to the The steel is exactly the same, the ring is similar, the feel is similar. This punch had dimpled everything from drywall to aluminum to steel for 30 years and was still going strong. These will work well too, I am sure.
Although I thought they were a bit overpriced, I still bought them because they were of high quality. As you can see, they were shipped quickly in the low-quality plastic sheath. While most of the punches in the set appeared to be well made, I found the smallest to be a little Trying to loosen a frozen bolt by tapping on both edges alternately, the punch sheared off (snapped) about 1/3 the way up the shaft from the tip as I attempted to tap on both edges. To inquire about a replacement, I have not yet contacted the seller, but I intend to do so soon. As a result of the one punch breaking and cheap plastic sheath, I rated the set as a 4 out of 5 stars. As I use the other punches, I will update this review as necessary.
The steel is of low quality. A piece of steel that I used for its intended purpose left no dent, but was just dulled after I used it for its intended purpose. My car has a glass break tool that is a bit bigger, so I guess I can use that one. Using it as a metal working tool would be impossible.
Having used them a few times since purchasing them, I'm confident in their quality. Thanks for the set. I'm happy with it. As of yet, I have only used it for punching before drilling a new hole for a fastener. They make a mark with these punches. The drilling will begin at this point. I like that this pouch keeps all the tools together and they're so easy to find/grab from a toolbag. It is expected that they will last for.
I've had no problems with them. In order to achieve precise placement of a hole, the Brad point drill bit tip snuggles perfectly into the recess left by the punch. This is a very well-made product. She probably will live longer than I will. for those who care about that sort of thing, the shirts are made in the USA.
I have used it for some time without any serious The way things are, they are as they are. It was easier for me to place the pilot holes accurately after I purchased an automatic punch, which was not only more convenient for me, but more convenient for me as well.
No need to worry! This product is really high quality and will hold up Since I've been using them for a while now, I wanted to wait a bit before writing a review based on my past experience. These are awesome, I know that for a fact! I like the way they hold up and make a perfect hole where I need one. Because the hole is deep enough, drills don't roll out of the hole and center up right in the spot. This is the place to go for it!.
These punches are too good to be disliked. The Starrett brand is the standard in Providing that they are not abused (don't drive punts through them), they should last for a long time. The plastic pouch over the wooden holder is more convenient because you can put them in.
