There was a line-up error on only one of the eight holes. None of the rest even came close to competing. This is a scam meant to steal money from you.
However, I'm going to invest in the It looks as if the center punch doesn't hit the exact center of the target. The center of gravity might occasionally be off. Due to the play in the spool, this might occur from time to time. Rock and roll isn't quite there, but it's close enough! As for the rest, I did not expect this to be a precision tool for its price, so it is adequate for its price. The machine I'm going to buy will have a built-in punch so you don't need to hammer on it yourself. To hold the hinge and hit it with a hammer is not an easy task, and if you are in an awkward arrangement, you may have problems keeping it from moving. This would be much easier to accomplish if there were an automated punch to keep the hinge steady while punching the holes. A recent update After reviewing the hole, I realized that the reason that it was not center is because I had to hold the tool precisely perpendicular to the hinge - this is why the hole wasn't exactly centered. It will appear that the point is stabbed off center if the angle is slight. The center punch point is centered on the tool, so I wanted to make sure I didn't unfairly rate it, it is a pretty good tool. In any case, I stand by the statement that if you plan to use a hinge, hold a tool and hammer, you might want to purchase an auto-supports device It doesn't make you punch style or grow a third hand. For the price, though, it's a great bargain if you don't use a tool like this every day. They can cost as much as $40 for an autopunch.
There is absolutely no center to the punch. If I use a normal punch, I would do better eyeballing.
A non-profit organization Those hinges with mortised edges are perfectly aligned when the screws are tightened, and the heads of the screws meet the hinges' square and flat surfaces. I can keep it in my toolbox without taking up space.
This is about the size of a nail with a small funnel attached. Using a spring loaded center punch, I can punch a hole in a surface if a surface is placed on it Although I am not sure why this one has a spring, I can speculate. The creators of this design have no idea why it is as it is. Not impressive at all.
It works best on softer materials such as wood and aluminum because this is not a high powered tool. A small mark is left on mild steel when it is used.
My goal was to buy an automatic punch but it did the job for the one job I needed it for - it was built well, except I could not tap the spot with a hammer to mark it.
In other words, not a normal person There is no point in using a center centering punch. The punch I got was awful, but I know there were plenty of good punches out there. If I had a photo, I would do so, but there are plenty of photos online.
