Despite my struggles, I still managed to finish most of However, it worked as well as could be expected. Occasionally, it might slip off the tip if just the very end was touched. The snap ring works best if you are able to push it further up the tips with a small screwdriver/pick. The deep internal rings were also causing some issues for me. I'm paid by the hour, so I'm okay with that. It is crucial to have pliers this size if you have snap rings this size. You will not have a good time using substitutes/hacks of lower quality. Be careful with who you use, how you attach them, and where you place the tips. In order to avoid getting the pliers in the way, simply flip the handles. You will need to forethought it a bit, but if you have 1/4 of a mechanical brain, things should work out okay.

It is easy to use and extremely durable, I use them all the time in my shop as a technician a friend of mine has the same set of snap ring pliers for a lot more money, there is no difference between the 2. I would highly recommend it.

Since I have worked on heavy duty diesel engines for years, these have been a priority. One co-worker bought the set from the tool trucks and paid two times as much for the same set a day later. We have used this twice so far in pinion snap rings and it worked like a charm. You can pry out the snap ring with your second hand if your ratchet system is engaged because it frees up your first hand.

The things that are described here are fantastic. A couple of the pliers on the Cornwell truck broke and I had to buy new ones. It didn't even take me a moment to remove these rusted in, very strong snap rings for a Mercedes wheel bearing, because these rings are so strong. There was only one thing I regret about buying these shoes - I waited until I had broken three pairs before I purchased them.

I loved the whole We pulled a 3" internal ring that was 5" deep in the outboard unit. Soon after that we broke the tip off a "Heavy Duty" set with solid non-metallic parts The tips can be easily replaced! By using the ratchet action, you can easily set the tension single handed, so the pliers do not slip, then you can compress and lock the pliers using two hands, so you can easily squeeze the ring and possibly hold a light!.
