The lock ring that has a 45-degree cut requires work on pliers that can handle the job. It is not necessary to use pliers for removing snap rings when they have an eyelet

Can you tell me how wide the tip is when it is ?

Measuring the height with a digital caliper, we found it to be 13.65". You should be able to 'wiggle' a little.

The threads from a candelabra bulb that came off in the socket can be removed using this method?

It may not work for some reason that I am unaware of. Using a standard needle nose is what I have done. It is easiest to grasp the metal base of the bulb if you bend the metal base that was part of There may be an advantage to this if you only have a small space.

The lock ring plier I purchased in June of 2018 is no longer working. One of the tips broke today under normal Do you have a warranty for this tool?

The Stanley Proto line of hand tools are allegedly covered by a lifetime warranty. The pin that held the wrench together snapped a while back as I was assembling it for a special job. The pictures I sent to Proto were received and they contacted me. It would cost me money to ship it to them, and then they would provide the replacement A warranty service should not require me to pay to ship the broken tool to the manufacturer. I should not be required to pay to have the warranty honored. Therefore, if you are willing to pay Stanley Proto to ship your broken pliers to them, you may be able to have them replaced.

A very useful tool that is completely worth your money
5/5

A very useful tool that is completely worth your money. It takes a whole lot of labor and time to install Advanced Adapters' SYE kit in my Jeep's NP231 transfer case. The installation involves changing the rear output shaft and moving a few parts from the old shaft to the new shaft. One of the C clips I have is an utter pain to remove and install (see photo), and the three other snap ring pliers that I have would not It took way too long for me to install the new C clip shown in the picture, and, finally, I had to order this tool, which made the task almost effortless. These are an absolute must have accessory if you have any C clips or snap rings inside your transfer case, transmission,.

It is hard or impossible to remove snap rings with no holes for pliers if they have no holes The snap ring pliers from the local auto parts / hardware store proved useless to me after I tried for hours to remove some snap rings from my Jeep TJ transmission
5/5

I gave up and did some research online. I used pliers to take off snap rings that don't have holes for pliers. With the pliers I had, it wasn't easy, if it was possible at all. These pliers are beautiful and I found them It was impossible to find anything similar at any local store. The next day I got these delivered, took them out to my garage, and snapped them on right off the snap ring I'd spent hours on just the day before - literally the first time I did it! It took about two minutes to complete. I am quite happy with this product, and proto is a good brand, and these are well made and well designed, and I was able to reach into a tighter space and expand the snap ring more than I needed to. It is a great product, and I would recommend it to anyone.

This is a nice pair of flat nose horse shoe snap ring pliers from Descent
3/5

This is a solid screwdriver, but has terrible grips due to the smooth plastic. When you use the grips, they become extremely slippery due to sweat from the hands and Foam based grips are far superior to those found on other brands of products. My hands were gripped by plastic grips, so I cut them off A better feeling is achieved when the piece is dipped.

As I just finished rebuilding the brake calipers on my motorcycle, I know that this is a must have
5/5

Having a pair of these pliers handy is essential when it comes to pulling out and installing pistons inside the brake During the repair, one of the pistons became stuck and would not release. The pliers were used for a long time to pull out the fluid and then a lot of pulling with force. This is an extremely well made pair of pliers I never felt the need to worry about them coming apart in my hands. grips because they are soft enough to not dig into your hand, but they are strong enough to take a lot of If you need reverse pliers for a specific project, then these are essentials to have.

Snap ring pliers that are the best I have ever seen or owned
5/5

Do you really need more than just a glance? You have to see them in person to fully appreciate them. This is the best pair of c and e ring pliers I've ever used. Outboards are the only engines I work on regularly, and not every snap ring on a motor has Despite the nose of these toys having a lot of grip, all you have to worry about is making sure the ring doesn't twist and escape. I used them on my upper ball joints on a pickup as well, making life so much easier for me. Also, they are built with a good amount of tolerance, giving them a quality look you'd expect from an older manufacturer like Japanese/German. Although I am not sure who makes them, you should get them if you're on the fence.

This is a very solid These lock ring pliers are constructed in the USA and are a solid set
5/5

The set replaces an old 40 year old hand me down set that caused me a lot of cursing from its flying lock rings over the past 15 years. Considering how inexpensive the tool was, I can hardly believe I suffered over it for so long. It holds the ends of the lock ring tight with its slot and texture. According to other reviews, the grips do not appear to be dipped and they are loose at the top, but they adjust snugly where they need to. There are probably some rose gold nail polish holder with tight fancy handles that you can use next to your nail polish if you're more concerned about form than function. My opinion is that these are working just fine on transmission and gearbox.

It's just the best tool to do Lock rings can be made with this neat tool
5/5

To remove/install the lock ring washer that holds the upper ball joint on to the steering knuckle, I purchased this tool. My Toyota 4Runner Limited (2000 model) has nice long handles for leverage but they are not oversized in any way. I especially appreciate the "dimples" on the bottom of the jaw, as this allows the lock ring to be opened without pulling away from In summary, a great tool that is durable and of high quality!.

Pliers for locking rings that are strong and durable
5/5

In order to install a lock ring on a crankshaft for a VW Type 1 Engine, I purchased these rings. The rings retain the gears on the front of the crank however, do not have any holes like a In order to get the retaining ring over the end of the crank and into its groove, they grabbed the end of the ring and opened it up. Served its purpose and I will use it again when building my next engine. Other applications in which a retaining ring needs to be expanded may also work with this tactic. Piston rings may also work with this method, but we have not tested it for that use.
