It was so easy to remove the snap ring that I spent hours trying to remove with another tool that was a little too small and had straight pins to fit in the holes, until I bought this. When it comes to snap rings, I won't have to work with a ton of them, and I might just buy one to fit a specific purpose. It is less expensive than buying a complete set of other types up front, and I think they are better quality in the long run than a big kit. There is a good grip on the snap ring due to the curve of the tips. Opening and closing the tool is not too easy, but it is not too difficult either. All in all, it is an extremely user-friendly tool of high quality.

Even though I'm unlikely to use this tool for a long time (I don't often have to make these kinds of repairs), I'm certain it will work as promised once I've had the chance to use it. There may be a reason for this. This "set" had the ability to work when another hadn't. My only preferred method of using snap ring pliers is to snap a ring on one end, not use universal pliers It is purpose built for one purpose, and does that one purpose very well.
