Questions & Answers

Could these be used with rings up to a certain size?

For hog rings of a standard upholstery size, they are for an auto trim. I am not sure if a larger size will fit

Can 1/2" rings be used with it?

For 3/4" rings, I use it. It is big enough for rings that are 1/2" in diameter.

The pliers appear to be spring-loaded Does the crimping ring need to be loaded before it is crimped? Would you please accept my thanks?

In fact, the spring in the pliers is designed to make the tool open. A hog ring must be in place very slightly after having been inserted, this is achieved by applying some pressure to the handles.

What size hog rings are these supposed to fit?

It is not going very well for me. can be used to apply quarter-inch rings and is an excellent tool for doing so. There are a couple thousand rings I have crimped on barbed wire attached There is a wide variation in thickness among the rings that you buy Those that a few cents each are strong and thick, and those that are currently sold for less than one cent each are thin. It is best to keep a variety of each on hand so that you can tailor the use to the situation.

Yet I haven't been averse to investing in quality tools, and I am willing to make an investment in something that will make my job easier. Pliers this good are hard to come by! As soon as I took them out of the package, I noticed they were of high quality. With its angled flat head and precision craftsmanship, the job was a piece of cake from the get-go! As a novice, I was hesitant to shell out so much money for a tool that I only thought I would use once, but after reading other reviews, I decided to try it. That was awesome, so happy I did it! These wooden dowels will last longer than I know what to do with them! I am already thinking of other projects to use them on!.

The tool is of high quality We are proud to be based here in the U. S. This is very easy to use and makes hog rings nice and snug. I did not get sore hands using this tool, compared to what I used to use with the red hog rings pliers widely available on Amazon. An angle of this type will be useful when reaching hard-to-reach areas. You don't have to pull the handles apart manually every time you want to load another ring because the spring holds them together.

unaware, you can get these with either a spring that opens the plier (such as this pair) or with a spring that closes the plier (which is what I wish I knew). However, it is extremely good quality.
