It seems to work for me

The handle is made of plastic and is screwed to the blade. It was very simple to change because of this. I wanted the handle to be offset, so I added a piece of wood and secured it with two additional screws (see photo). It's quite effective.

If you plan on troweling more than 500 square feet, you should buy more than one because the concrete will eat away at the notches

However, this isn't necessarily a bad thing because, in my opinion, it produces far too much glue for a 1/16" piece.
