IRWIN Tools ProTouch Drywall/Jab Saw (2014100)

In order to replace my drywall keyhole saw I needed to purchase a smaller device. This piece of tubing has been bent too many times over the years of use, and must now retire. In the process of finding a solution for my problem, I decided to try this innovative design from Irwin. From the very first glance at its tooth design, it's obvious this is going to be a big hit. The teeth on this knife are divided into two distinct rows, which allows it to cut more smoothly and in either direction. This tool is truly impressive in terms of the design that went into it. In part, this is because drywall wants to crumble, making it a difficult material to cut. By just cutting one way and just dragging the other way, only one direction saws aggravate the problem. Despite not having any return drag, this saw cuts as it moves. In addition to being less damaging, the sawing process will be also more rapid. Unlike a ratcheting screwdriver with bi-movement, there is no wasted motion. Although I have not used it yet, I have no doubt it will perform well on the big day. I have placed in in my tool bucket for future use. If it does not, I will edit the review again. However, that is not likely.

I was able to get exactly what I needed out of the saw. The ceiling had to be cut for some speakers so we drilled some round holes. Circular saws are harder to use than I expected, but it did a good job on the circle. Using a blade, I marked the circle to be cut, then used a saw to cut it out. By using less pressure and more travel, I found an in-between cut to be more accurate. This purchase has not disappointed me in the least.

My purpose is to cut drywall for a couple of wall plate installations - I bought this saw for that purpose It was my first time doing this kind of work, so I was prepared to face difficulties. It was a pleasant surprise to learn that this simple, well-designed guide proved instrumental in the installation process A tool that was made. Despite the thickness of the 1/2' drywall, I was able to punch through it Using this Irwin saw, I was able to perform the drywall cutting in a comfortable and effortless manner.

My favorite part of the handle is its feel. I like how sturdy it is and how well it works for me. Despite being so expensive, it was a good value for the money I spent. Those that sell for twice as much would not be any better, in my opinion. If you need one of these though, this one might be right for you.

My office was able to get a few new outlets after I installed it. I am happy with the installation. These holes have been drilled 1/4" from the corners of the outlet locations, and I have cut them out using this tool. My experience was great and it didn't have any issues. I had a weird angle during the cutting process, but the cuts were clean and straight. (Maybe I cut through 5/8 inch drywall? it was not measured. I did not expect it to be so thick.
