I still put a sheet of paper under the blade when flush cutting on this saw, since it doesn't have teeth set. The edge is very sharp and it is very flexible, so it is easy to stray.

A true flush cut saw cannot be made with it
3/5

As a matter of fact. A true flush cut saw cannot be made with it. In a flush cut saw, only one of the teeth is set. That means you can place the non-set-side against the work piece and not damage it when you do that.

It cuts nicely without causing much damage to the surrounding surface
4/5

After cutting, I had to lightly sand the edge. My stairs are already finished, but I needed this saw to cut screw hole plugs flush with them - the bullnose was already finished, so I used it to cut the plugs flush. As a result, I wanted to minimize scratching and damage to the bullnose finish when I cut off the screw hole plugs. This worked reasonably well - thank you! I was looking for a saw with no set to it (exactly what I wanted). This saw really does not set at all. The grade I gave it was 4. It was five stars only because it did not cut perfectly flush with the bullnose, which required a little bit of finishing sanding to achieve a perfectly flush installation. Although I might be mistaken, I felt like the teeth might be pulling slightly one way or another, since sometimes my cut ends up flush at the end, but sometimes it ends up slightly higher. While the sanding had some impact on the bullnose finish, it was not too Having sanded the whole bullnose, I wiped the entire surface with poly oil finish to bring out the beautiful finish. At such a reasonable price, I think this saw is well designed and works well.

This hotel offers the best value for While Gyokucho saws may not be the best Japanese saws you can buy (you can spend $$$ on the incredibly executed Japanese saws from the renowned makers), they are certainly worth the investment
5/5

I have not found any saws that compare to those from Gyokucho, but dollar for dollar they are better. If you want to obtain the best results from a Japanese saw, you must understand its use. A thin blade and a sharp cutting edge Here's the thing You must pull There are some differences in stroke configuration between western style and Japanese style A Japanese saw has very fine teeth that can be damaged by excessive force on the push stroke. They produce an excellent cut when used with proper technique.

You can dispose of it after use

It would be helpful to have a tool that could debug This is my bamboo node. It worked fine for the job, but the teeth on the saw did not hold up to the rigors of cutting The saw blade on this model is disposable, which means there is no way to replace it. This is not a bad deal for the price.

This is a great saw to use for flush cuts and more
5/5

I love this little saw so much. The tool is supposed to be used for cutting flush dowels or protruding pins, and it is excellent for that task, but it's so versatile that it can also be used for other jobs as well. There are two sides of the plate, one has a fine cut side and the other coarse cut side. All the sides of the plate cut on the pull stroke and the kerf is very thin. Despite having no set on the teeth, the saw does not damage or mar the adjacent surfaces while cutting through them. Whenever you need to cut trim pieces, quarter round, or other fine details quickly and precisely, this machine is outstanding. I'd say it would be excellent for balsa or basswood projects like RC planes or other scale models if you happen to be into that. In particular, the fine side of the plate is left with an exceptionally smooth surface from the cut, just like most Japanese saws. Every time I need to do something around the house, I reach for it. Because I was so impressed by it, I also got one for my dad. Although you may not be a woodworker, you should keep one of these saws around the house because of the price and utility it provides.

This is perfect for cutting off excess wood plugs
5/5

In a nutshell, For my teak work, I use it to cut off excess wood plugs that cover screws. When I am used to handling it, I can cut off the excess dead flush (it gets better the more I use You don't want to use too much pressure for this trick With a light saw, the job gets done quickly! -) in most cases, and nearly dead flush in all cases, with no marring of the surround surface It is a 0 Not a thing! The surprise on my face was real With my first 8 plugs, I did not scratch the surrounding area in any of them, and it only took me about 3 minutes to do them all! That is why it was bought, and it works perfectly for what I intended It's going to take me a while to get through them all.

A sharp, smooth, straight line
5/5

"SAW" is spelled out like that. I don't think that's the right way to Despite that, the saw is perfect for all of those jobs, and for surface cuts as well. Those cuts were also made. String instruments can be rough shaped with it, and it works well In the review AI asked me to rate "stretch," but I declined to do so, since I have not stretched this saw and neither does anyone else I recommend it to In place of "price," I have rated this on "flexibility. " Though there is a bit of a learning curve (pun intended!) this saw is incredibly sharp and useful, and it has already paid for itself in time saved in Stockings full of saws are a great idea!.

This is very flexible/extremely sharp
5/5

The saw is a wonderful little tool. Flexibility and sharpness are both very impressive. As far as I've used it, it only cut wood plugs, but it sliced them off with little effort. The elasticity of the saw prevents the surface from being marred when you cut away the excess. Glad I added it to my collection of saws.
