used it only for dead wood and not for green wood
For this saw, I do not believe a metal cutting blade has been included.

I read reviews that commented on how difficult it was to replace the blade cover, and how dangerous it was. At first I was prepared to agree and thought of a way to ease the process, such as cutting off the flanged side. But then I realized something others may not have noticed A simple and easy way to cover the blade is by folding the flanged side of the safety cover back. It only takes a couple of seconds to fold up the flange, slip the blade inside, and fold the flanged part back up. There may be two or three places where you have to push it up. For your viewing pleasure, I have attached some photos. This is not something the manufacturer tells you, so I'm glad I've been trained in the mechanical field for years now It is a useful tip that can be shared with others! As a side note, the saw looks particularly sharp, and I will edit this review once I use it for the first time. The machine is extremely sharp, and it's a good tool for light pruning that needs more finesse than other models.

You don't want to miss this Bahco! If I had one bow saw in the barn, I would probably have 3 crappy bow saws, you know how they work, blades go all wonky, I can't get the cut to start correctly with either draw, flimsy handles, and poor tensioning. I like this saw a lot more than the Bahco! Recently, I took it to Arkansas to pick up a couple of trees that were too close to the cabin, ended up with about two cords of 4-inch logs This saw is capable of cutting fire wood up to 8" dia at 18" sections by hand. Two blades were purchased, a green blade and a dry blade, which were easy to switch out, and the tensioner was well designed and never clogged up or was difficult to finger tighten or loosen. I've used the saw with both blades on a couple construction projects instead of a traditional hand saw because the saw cuts well with both blades. I highly recommend this product! This bow saw came after having a folding Bahco saw since several years ago. That saw has cut down and processed a number of trees and a number of firewood without failure or in need of sharpening for several years now. As good as the previous saw, I am sure this one will be, too!.

I can't believe the power of this saw. Camping is a great use for this bag. The Bahco blows away the old Gerber saw that I was using previously. I used an 8 inch folding saw before this. During cutting, material is removed in both directions, so less strokes are needed in order to achieve even cutting. It's still sharp and efficient after 50 or so cuts and I use only enough pressure to keep the saw in contact with the wood, leaving the weight of the saw to take care of the rest. I think I have made about 40 cuts so far and it still seems to do exactly what I expected. As of now, my biggest log has been about 7 inches thick, but looking at this machine, it could probably handle a 10 inch log (may take a bit longer/need As well, I found it difficult at first to operate the blade guard, but then I figured out how you fold the bend forward (away from the center where the blade goes), which when opened will fall off the blade, and then you reverse the process and close it to secure it. I am now a huge fan of the blade cover now that I have figured out how it works. As long as you understand how to use it, it won't fall off and is easy to use this is important because the saw teeth on it are no joke and will seriously rip/snag any fabric it comes into contact with (I As you can see from the photographs, it took me a few cuts to get used to the motion of the saw, but now that I am familiar with it, it is Just make sure to keep tensioning the saw so that it will make nice, straight cuts. I am grateful Bahco designed the tensioning nut to be essentially a wing nut that doesn't hurt bare fingers and can easily be turned. In addition, the knuckle guard is a plus. **To sum up, I will buy Bahco bow saws for the rest of my life, though this saw is likely to last me a long time, since the bow is made from one solid It is also great that the replacement blades can be purchased so easily! Keep up the good work,.

I was able to see through thick oak branches like butter with its blade. The device is also very light, which makes it easy to transport. Small rounds and thick branches can be handled with this size. In order to go through medium rounds, I am thinking about getting a bigger saw. In this case, I am using it for green wood for carving, but it will also work easily for firewood. Also, the blades for the saw can be exchanged, so it's possible to cut either dry or green wood with the same tool. This is a great idea.

If you want one made in China, you can buy it at your local big-box store It's a hardware store in a box. You can use these for branches that are small and so forth. With my cutting disc I've cut branches with diameters up to 13 inches. Why use a chainsaw when this works? Wood can be chopped and sliced with ease during replacement of the blades. Get the right blade for your job by making sure it's the right one. For green wood (cutting on live tree branches) there is one blade all the way to dry wood (firewood or lumber, if you so desire), so you can select the optimal one for your particular job. You must have never heard that from the China bow saws, didn't you? In their hands, you will only get a "middle of the road" blade which sort of works for either scenario, but it does not perform as well and makes you work hard to accomplish the job. It is such a waste of money on such blades that one wonders why there is even a need for a chainsaw.

In reading this review, you are likely aware of the versatility, performance, and relatively low risk associated with a bow saw when compared with the price and the inevitable dangers associated with power tools and they A chain saw is a potential hazard. In our town dump, a number of saws I used to cut metal could no longer be sharpened to cut it to my satisfaction. I recently had to retire those saws that could not be sharpened. As a result, I have switched to a collection of Bahco saws in different sizes and dry and green woods. Throughout this brand, I've been impressed with the quality.

Shipment in a timely manner. Definitely a happy person! Two days after it was ordered, it arrived. The table saw was extremely easy to use when compared to the bow saw I was using prior to purchasing it. I cut down four Oleander trees with minimal effort. I really like this!.
