A good hammer, the only reason I didn't give it a 5-star rating is the corner edges are pretty sharp, but with a little bit of a cleaning on the grinder or even the sander I think they will look great.
The weight of this Swedish pattern is 307 lbs. You would expect nothing less from Picard. It's a pretty good Considering both long and short grip positions, it is easy to grip. **I had purchased the 1000 gram version and loved it so much I decided to order it in the larger size as well. It looks like it will be a great tool to beat some hot metal with.
There is a lot to like about this Picard hammer's balance. Blacksmithing work can be accomplished well with this tool. It's well made and easy to use. This hammer is a high quality piece of equipment that I have used in blacksmithing and it has been tough to use. There is no one's experience that is the same as everyone else's. The picture belongs to me.
I think the hammer is extremely well made, with good striking hardness on the face. There is a minor issue with the direction of the grain on the handle, but it hangs nicely and is firm. It is hoped the thing won't loosen at any time In spite of the thick handle coated with paint, I was able to get the paint off with some elbow grease, thin the handle and spray tung oil in it to keep it clean and oiled.
A Swedish pattern hammer should be well balanced, with some forward weight. The weight is centered in the middle. Despite being firmly attached, the handle had a generous size and was well-attached. I have made it my favorite hammer of this size after removing enough wood for it to fit my hand and rounded and polished the hammer's face and peen.
It's a good hammer and feels good to use. It is important to have a good My handle was two inches long so I cut it off. With the handle of the hand plane, I cut the wood. For me, a straight handle is preferable. I find it to be very useful.
It is nice to use the hammer a lot. This product feels very solid to the touch. A good grip is provided by the very secure connection of the hammerhead There is only one thing I dont like about the handle the smooth, shiny finish. When you hammer on it, it is a little slippery, but just sand it for a second and it will be much more comfortable for you. It gives you a lot Aside from that, I think it is an excellent purchase!.
I really like this hammer. It's high quality, it's fit is perfect, and it's finished well.
