This thing is great for me because I study geology and I love to smash rocks with it. The classic E-type is still a good one, don't get me wrong A wing 22 is good for performing well in weaker rocks, and it is light too, but for use in volcanic lands or in areas of strong seds, you need something stronger. A stronger word. You might, from time to time, get tired at the end of the day and feel the urge to smack the facies off some brutally resistant quartzite, or bust some basalt right into the olivine, so this thing is perfect for such moments. The only wish I have is that Wing also offers a version that has a pointed tip for those situations in which you need to dig a bit or pry. The mattock with a forged metal handle and quality construction is a very welcome alternative to the insanely overpriced, overly long, and fragile wood handle versions that are commonly available on the market. In the future, I am sure I will still keep this around for weekend rockhounding trips even after I leave the geology student world. Although I really enjoy smashing rocks and calling it "work", I doubt there are very many geologists in the world who still use rockhammers as much as computers, which is kind of a pity since it's a lot of fun.
I've been working on elevators for 30 years and use this big blue beauty on a daily basis. It's not just the mechanic who picks up the hammer, though. They sink quick bolts, knock rails around, and take apart pallets and crates as well. I want one of these every time they ask "where did you get it". This is the best of the best. A pro grade product. You don't need this much hammer, and it may hurt yourself if you purchase it. The hammer is too large for you. You won't be able to handle it, and there's no need to buy this much. Oh, ha! Then you'll get hurt (I have no illusions, I am serious).
In my opinion, Eastwing has the best hammers available on the market. Having a 2 pound and a 4 pound blacksmith's hammer for 2 years has been a valuable part of my work. Handles are made of fiberglass on both. The hammer head has now become loose on both. Because of the solid steel construction and one piece construction of this engineering hammer, I chose to purchase it. It is amazing to have such a fantastic hammer! This is an incredibly well-balanced and extremely tough weapon. Whether it is knocking I beams in place, smashing worn 60" excavator bucket shanks from cutting edges, or breaking concrete around beam pockets, this hammer will get the job done.
Seize the opportunity. Your mind will be blown by the power you will generate with no effort at all.
Estwing appears to have been emblazoned on the handle of the picture online, but it has not been branded on the one I received. Except for that, it is a hammer, and hammers are used for various purposes.
As far as I can tell, they have always been our favorite hammer at work. For maximum durability, a full metal shaft is used. While I don't understand why they painted them blue, I do notice that there are many other colors to choose from At some point, the paint will chip.
Sledgehammer like this is hard to beat. This is the best stroller ever, it's well balanced and durable. I highly recommend it.
I used one at a railcar repair shop, and I've wanted one ever since. These hammers are the best for the money, and I highly recommend them! Our hammers have stood the test of time as we abused them and always prevailed.
I like it a lot and it's solid - The sledge is made of two pieces. For its size, this thing is pretty heavy.
The shaft has a hint of a bend to one side. However, this shouldn't affect its performance any way.
