Over the course of my electronics career and hobby, I have owned a number of Pana Vise products. The equipment has been of great use to me in the past. It seemed like there was a bug this time. It appears that the product I received was damaged in some way. When I asked Amazon to accept my return, they responded quickly. Having just received the replacement, it certainly holds up to the reputation for quality I expected from Pana Vise. With this company, you won't be able to go wrong if you're doing intricate bench work where you wish you had three or four hands. It would have been better to buy a vice that was less expensive. A great deal of time will be spent using this.
There may be no way to hold circuits in this holder, but it could hold butter or cheese. As far as I am concerned, this is by far the worst circuit holder I have seen in all of my time in the industry.
It has not been as stable as I anticipated. It is impossible to lock the slide lock and move the arm in a satisfactory manner. Sorry to hear that.
This isn't something I can make use of. No matter where I clamp it, it just falls off while I'm soldering! It gets stuck on any circuit board and then it starts dropping off again after some time.
Small projects are perfect for this.
It's affordable and of high quality.
It will not be able to hold a medium to large board. In an attempt to adjust the console, pressure near the support bar forces the arms apart, so although you may have a good grip, in most cases it is almost like a 'point contact' situation, resulting in the board rotating and falling out of the console. The fact that a board can be turned around from top to bottom makes it more useless, in my opinion. Due to this feature, you cannot keep the board parallel to your workspace. I wouldn't recommend using it for anything other than paperweights.
