Questions & Answers

Will this tool, in addition to the bully tool, assist in the removal of ceramic tile from a concrete floor? Tom, may I express my gratitude?

We were removing tile from a wood subfloor, and this tool, along with a flat bar, were the tools we relied on the most. This was useful for getting under the edge so you could then get the bar in.

I'm a beginner metalworker who needs a chisel to cut copper sheets, lead, and other softer metals. Is it possible to do that with this tool?

I don't see how this tool could be used to cut soft metal sheets effectively. I believe it could easily cut through metal, but I envision it ripping the metal rather than making a clean cut. On the lead, it might work to a point. What about using snips or a nibbler that is powered by electricity?

Is this something that can be used to break up the concrete around fence posts?

Yes, it should get the job done quickly.

Is this going to work on a concrete wall to break up mortar? I recently made a wall and there was some spillage that has now dried completely. I'm making an attempt to clean up the mess. ?

Yes, I believe it is. By hammering the mortar in between the bricks, I was able to break down a brick wall. It worked perfectly; just make sure you use a heavy (5 pound) hammer or you'll be (even) more exhausted.

The job was completed successfully! We're do-it-yourselfers who have no idea what we're doing, so we had a lot of extras
4/5

(over-)poured I've extended) a cement footing and need to cut off a 10 foot long 1 inch line. The DEWALT DW4725 High Performance 4-Inch Drill Bit was used. 1/2- 7/8-Inch Dry Cutting Continuous Rim Diamond Saw Blade with Inch Dry Cutting Continuous Rim Diamond Saw Blade with 7/8-Inch Dry Cutting Continuous Rim Using an angle grinder with an inch arbor for masonry, I cut the line as deep as the blade would allow, then used a Stanley FatMax chisel to chip away the bottom that the angle grinder blade couldn't reach. It turned out fantastically!.

Utilized and abused This chisel did its job well and lasted a long time
4/5

The rear of the chisel became deformed after I finished my demolition project, but it still works fine; my only complaint is that the grip began to slide up and down the chisel soon after I started using it. It had no effect on how the chisel functioned in the end, but it was a nuisance. My left hand, on the other hand, was relieved to have a grip and that the guard shielded it from my erratic right hand.

nimble as a tack I gave the chisel a five-star rating, but I gave the packaging a one-star rating
5/5

The chisel edge cut through the paper envelope it was shipped in, which is why you may be wondering.

I purchased this to construct a stone retaining wall, and it saved my hand
5/5

This was my first time chiseling stone. I can't tell you how many times I didn't hammer the chisel head in and either glanced off or directly hit the guard. The guard worked flawlessly, and I suffered no injuries to my thumb or hand as a result of using it. In terms of build quality, the chisel itself had some chipping, but it was only cosmetic (hopefully). The end that gets stuck was quickly knocked down and stripped of paint, bringing the guard up to the same level as the yellow knob (now free of paint) in the photo. This didn't appear to affect the guard or the chisel's performance, so I'm not concerned.

That's a nice chisel you've got there
4/5

I'm no chisel expert, but I needed a masons chisel to break down a glass block wall without shattering the blocks. This was fine; I liked the hand guard concept, and it worked (at least) a couple of times while I was working: The chisel has a nice balanced feel to it, and it held up well against my hammer blows. I was pleasantly surprised to discover that the vibrations had no effect on my holding hand; in fact, it was only after some time that I realized that my holding hand was perfectly fine. br>br>I gave it four stars because I can't "love" a chisel.

A hand guard is a must, and it's simple to get a good grip on one
4/5

Handguard is a must, and it's easy to get a good grip on it. The disadvantage is that it does not score as well as a chisel should, and this could just be me. After reading articles and watching videos, I bought this to cut pavers, but I had to score it several times because the paver didn't just break apart on the line, but was jagged. It could be me, the pavers, or the chisel, but it appears to be the chisel, and if that is the case, the score is a 4.

For the price, this is an excellent chisel
5/5

I use this to cut shims and metal track that has already been shot to the concrete floor to size, and it does a great job for the price. Despite the abuse, the edge has fared well. My only gripe is that when you hammer on the chisel, the handle has a tendency to ride up over the end of the chisel.

Mason Chisel is a fantastic tool
5/5

I bought this to help tear out a brick wall and brick planter after smashing my hands a few times with a regular hammer and chisel. It was a huge success. It's a heavy-duty chisel, and the guard was kind enough to save my hands. Even after weeks of constant hammer strikes, the guard is still in excellent condition. I'm cleaning the mortar off the bricks to recycle them now, and this chisel has saved me a lot of time. It is an excellent value for the money.
