Questions & Answers

Did you know that it's made in China? My decision would be to not buy if that is the case. ?

It's really strange that it was made in China and yet it's called Fujiwara. Considering the quality of Chinese goods I have experienced in the past, I would not have bought it if I knew it was made there. A good pruning saw such as this one.

Folding saws are easy to carry when closed does it pose any safety concerns?

When the folding saw is closed, it is very easy to keep in your pocket. The measurement is about 12 inches long by 3 inches wide by 1 inch high when closed. Additionally, there is a hole at the end of the handle that can be attached to a rope or string for handle attachment. In addition to the hole, it can be hung on a wall using that same hole.

When using this saw, does it cut when used in both push and pull directions?

The only thing to do is pull. A blade that doesn't flex will be more effective when pushing. There are no complaints about this saw and it is only 7 pounds. There were 5 ounces in total. Camping, backpacking, and such can all be done with it.

It is okay to cut occasionally
3/5

As I looked at the package, I was disappointed. I got a cheap Chinese saw, but did I expect anything of Japanese quality at It doesn't really seem so, I suppose. My evaluation continued, so I went ahead. As part of my testing, I used the saw on a variety of tasks ranging from cutting wet to dry wood and thin branches to 10" There is nothing great about this saw, except that it is sharp and can cut, but the saw binds half way up the blade when working When used on anything but dry wood, I had difficulty using the full length of the worm. In terms of the blade, it's narrow (thin kerf) and doesn't eject wood bits very well, so it often became tangled up with wood. The narrow blade factor also forces you to be careful to not bend your blade on your push stroke because it is vulnerable to being bent. It is OK to have around the house for quick jobs, but you may need to look elsewhere if you plan to use it for more than occasional cutting tasks.

You've got to be kidding me, right? $16 is how much it costs
5/5

You can get something like that so cheaply. The handle is the first thing we need to look at. The rubber grip is very grippy and it is very comfortable to hold. Another detail that's easy to overlook is in the fine print of the composition. Hooked ends are a fun way to get extra leverage, and surprisingly great places to hold the handle. This is a really neat little detail I'm certain was designed by anyone, because it's so unique. There are sharp teeth on the blade, and the blade is thick. I took five or six strokes to chew through branches 2 inches in diameter. Those trees were made of soft wood. It's hard wood you'll need to be careful with, but you'll need to be cautious about any saw that cuts hard wood. I'll leave you with this. There is an extra blade included in the package. There can never be too much emphasis on this. I paid $15. The handle is very comfortable to hold, the blade is sharp, and there is an additional $16 will get you the book. This product has a perfect score because of its price. I am sure it would last for a very long time if you kept it clean and oiled.

The blade could be a bit more sturdy for me, but it worked well for me
4/5

The branch I needed to cut was large, so I wanted a pruning saw. In order to reduce costs I was looking for a budget solution since I don't know if I will have to use it again. As a saw, this worked well for me. In addition, it is easy to hold and grip, and the blade is very sharp so I was able to retrive the branch with no problems. As for the blade, keep it in mind that it is relatively thin and should be handled with care. There's no way it is going to snap without some effort, but I have used pruning saws where the blades don't even slip, and with this saw I knew I had to move slowly. As well as a replacement blade, it comes with an instruction booklet, which is great, but I wouldn't be shocked if it was need.

A blade that is very floppy
3/5

bought this to trim limbs and branches that are 4 inches to 6 inches in diameter. Generally, this type of saw works on a "pull stroke" in which you pull the blade across the wood toward you as you pull it. The exercise helps you get better at cutting when you're reaching up to do so. I found this saw to be very floppy in the wood and it did not cut well when pulling it. This saw made it difficult to cut two limbs that had a diameter of about 3" and it made the cutting much more difficult. This product was returned and I ordered a more branded product. I found it to work far better and be much more durable. It is not a project I recommend.

I agree, but you might as well get a better quality saw with the extra money
3/5

Corona A look through the eyes I don't know how they are alike maybe they came from the same tooling line? I know, however, that the blade is extremely China manufactures it cheaply and it comes from there. It is important to note that China is able to provide good quality. I'm sorry, but this isn't what I'm talking about. Invest in a folding saw that will last a lifetime instead of this one. This saw bends, wobbles, and snags more often than any other folding saw I have owned. In the case of pruning smaller limbs, it is sufficient.

The small saw is super
5/5

For a small amount of money, you can get a lot of saw. A great job is being done trimming limbs and even small trees with the machine. In the 9 months since I bought it, we have already cut a great deal and the extra blade that came with it has not yet been needed. This is a very good one for me. It would be better if it were made in the USA, but I do believe it will return to the country one day.

The material is adequate for the purpose
4/5

In place of a Sears Pruning Saw of the same size that was 25 years old, I purchased this.
Fujiwara isn't going to last much longer ( by a long shot), but it comes with an extra blade, is comfortable to hold, it cuts through limbs, and it can cut through wood comfortably. As needed, plant small trees.

Branches can be trimmed well with this blade
4/5

Saw blades of this quality are rare in the market. Using the saw to trim branches of evergreen trees is a great experience. I was a little uncomfortable using the handle due to the blade storage opening on the grip, but if I had been wearing gloves that wouldn't have been as much of an issue. A slight wiggle can be felt at the hinge of the blade which can be a little bothersome. However, the product is generally a pretty decent one.
