You slip the head on over the handle end and slide it up to the top, which may seem counterintuitive. The pick end tightens onto the handle as you work, providing a comfortable working environment. All you have to do now is make sure the head is on correctly. It's that simple.
For durability and comfort, the handle weighs 263 grams and is made of plastic coated fiberglass.br> Increased grip and less arm fatigue are ensured with slip handles. br>It is more important to consider the weight of the manuscript.

I have a medium adze as well as a much larger adze - When digging new holes to plant 1 gallon and 5 gallon plants, both are too large to reach stubborn roots. br>This is EXACTLY what I was looking for. br>I can swing it in tight spaces (along with other plants, planters, and garden fixtures) to break up clods and expose stubborn tree roots for cutting (this is a 41-year-old house). It has cut my digging time and effort in half when I'm working on my hands and knees to dig a new hole. br>Super tough, tight, and the perfect weight for one-handed use. I'm very pleased.
Do you have weeds on your property? br>Not after you've smacked them in the face with this. br>It's a green thing. Weeds, on the other hand, are not going to be. br>br>Of course, it came disassembled, but that was no issue. br>br>All I did was jam the head into the handle, stand on the prongs, and pull the handle upward, twisting the handle slightly toward each end of the head. Done. br>I've been using this thing for weeks in the veggie garden, on weeds in the xeriscape, and in the xeriscape to move both gravel and rock. br>br>This spring, I hand-tilled my entire 20'x5' veggie garden down to the depth of the pick and blade, maybe 5 inches deep, when amending my garden soil. Every one of them was broken. Single. clay- This mattock can be used to clod the clod. br>After that, I built seed mounds and drainage channels. br>br>If this mattock had its own mind, it wouldn't even *consider* loosening up from the handle.
With the exception of the grip diameter, I like everything about this pick. It's well put together. The length and size are both suitable. The grip, however, is insufficient. When I use this pick, my hands cramp up quickly. The handle, or at the very least the grip, should be much larger in diameter. I've never worked with or seen a tool with such a delicate grip. It might be suitable for someone with extremely small hands, but I am disappointed in my purchase.
The design is fantastic. This axe appeals to me greatly. I needed a tool to dig with while I was stuck in a hole. It's perfect, with the exception that it's made up of two parts. The head stays on most of the time, but it has fallen off on me on occasion. I'm sure there's a way to make it stick a little better.
Garden work can be fine-tuned with this tool. To get rid of weeds in beds, use this tool. The balance is excellent. I was concerned that they would be too small, but they work perfectly. Customer is pleased. I purchased the two-pack for the added flexibility and because I had previously purchased several other tools that did not perform as well.
We couldn't wait to get our hands on our new pick axe for our gem dig this weekend! This pick axe is 100% in terms of quality! I was surprised to find no pick axe at our local Home Depot, Lowe's, or Ace Hardware, but thank goodness for Amazon! It's the ideal tool for our rugged adventure weekends in the woods.
br>I'll probably wrap the handle for comfort's sake, but it's not required. br>I'm just a wimp who wears garden gloves all the time, so I don't have any warts on my hands.
Most of my other hand tools have been replaced by this single tool! It comes highly recommended!.
