5/5

Machetes like this can be found for as little as $16. Has a thick polyurethane coating on the blade to prevent rust, as well as possibly some polyurethane I thought the handle would be enormous even for people with relatively large hands, but it isn't. A lot of people say the handle is oversized so you can shape it yourself, so I thought it would be difficult to hold. With this handle, the size is just right for you, or you can make it a bit smaller if you prefer, and you won't have to adjust much. It arrived moderately sharp, but the tip was not sharpened. Also, it was not grinded convex (which is the most appropriate triangular edge with a bevel grind (primary and micro bevel). While I wish it had a lanyard hole or a longer handle, there is no point in being greedy for more when the price is only $16

This was my first machete purchase and I am happy with it. When I reshape the handle, I'm going to wire brush off the poly coating, patina it with vinegar, give it a convex edge, sand the spine, chamfer the rough edges, and drill a lanyard hole. you do not need to do any of that, the machete is still ready to go out of the box, but it may need to be sharpened if you want to get the best performance from it. I believe this is one of the best products you can buy.

Care for it properly and you will get a lifetime out of this tool! A Tramontina machete is one of the most popular with folks all over the world for a good reason
5/5

There is no doubt that this 14" Bolo style Tramontina machete made with 1070 carbon steel and a hardwood handle will live We're sorry guys, but expect it to be a little rough and unfinished when you get it. Do not fret! These tools are built to the specifications and needs of their owners, so it makes sense that the owners will get to specify and design their own. With the Bolo style machete, you can gain a little extra weight at the end of the blade, which is great when you have to chop a woody type of brush, as we do here in the northeast. They also have a 12" and 14" Latin style machete, all of which are fantastic, but this 14" Bolo is my favorite for cutting thick woody vines and small saplings and getting really close to the ground. She takes a beating and keeps on going! deciding between Bolo and Latin style, I recommend you get both and try them out because I think both have their own advantages and disadvantages. It arrived really fast, and I would like to say that I am very happy with it! A thin coating of clear poly was on it when it arrived from the factory, and the blade had a sticker. In order to put a hairnet on the sticker, I removed it with some blade oil, and then went in close with a bastard file and a Lansky puck It's like she's shaving her edge off. A few days ago, I was going to remove the poly from the blade with some steel wool and acetone, and then do a force patina on it, but I wasn't in a hurry. There are lots of ways you can personalize her. Here are a few suggestions! )It will come unground, so if you want a pointy tip on her, you'll have The extent of my travel was not as far as you indicated. In cutting vines and brush, I sharpened the whole blade until I got to the last inch on the tip where I left it with a little extra thickness so that it can withstand chopping and whacking close to/into dirt. According to other sites on the internet, this blade is made of 1070 carbon steel, and for the purpose of the tool it is a good, serviceable material. is not too difficult to sharpen, but it retains an edge very well. I think Imacasa uses 1075 steel instead of this (it's not quite as hard)

The wooden handle on this machete is blocky and rough, which is on purpose so you can carve or sand it to your liking. As a lady with medium sized hands, I made the handle more comfortable by sanding it right after I received it, which took me less than 10 minutes. Having this tool only took me a day to find just the right setting for my needs, and I have been using it ever The machete has been used to cut down invasive plants in my garden as well as a variety of other yard work, and it's a great pleasure to swing and chop through the brush with this tool! With this 14 inch length I could do it all day, one of the perks is that the tool is light enough not to exhaust you, and the geometry allows the front end of the tool to chop through thick brush easily without going through much effort. She works like a charm!

I paired it with a Marbles 14 "bolo style sheath that serves my needs for the time being. I only need to take a few minutes to touch up the edge with my Lansky puck now, and she's dangerously sharp, so some kind of sheath is required.

A machete I have never seen like this
5/5

Over the years, I have used multiple machetes to clear trails and tree stands and this one is the best. The blade is stiffer than all of the others I have tried, which allows me to make one to one cuts. The brush with a 5 inch diameter can be trimmed by a few chops. In the short blade, a swing appears to be concentrated because of the nice balance and short length. loaned my brother's a few weeks ago, and he ordered one the very next Also, you can easily sharpen it with a bastard file or canoe stone so you can continue to use it for hours. This knife does not come with a sheath, but the Marbles fits nicely with it.

For $20, you can get a lot of tools
4/5

Utility tool of good quality. The product is well-made. There are burrs on the backside of the blade, which was taken off using a Dremel tool. It is not a highly finished product. I was shocked when I realized that the edge of the hole had hollow ground underneath it. Despite what I've read about incomplete edge grinding, mine was sharpened all the way to the edge. To get hair shaving sharp, I only spent a few minutes using a medium grit stone. There was lots of discussion about the handle being too small and the length of the handle as received from the factory is short. In retrospect, I realize that the handle is extra chunky, so the user can customize the length according to his/her needs. Afterwards, with a Dremel, I sawed about 30% or more of the wood from the handle, but I still ended up with a perfect fit for my hand. If you prefer a more finished machete, then the price Not $20, but $00 instead.
