It will take a size zero of 1/32" to get the job done. You might want to use a size 1 glue, which is 3/64, if you are going to glue two pieces together. The master tools have sizes 0 through 4 in the available sizes. They are great edgers, and a great price.
Selected User Reviews For Weaver Leather Edger
It is my hobby to work with leather. When I am working on a pancake style knife sheath, I need an edger that will make neat, tight corners on the belt slots of a 4 to 5 oz knife. A leather handbag. A lot of my time is spent on YouTube watching leather working videos. The other day I was watching a YouTube video by Bruce Cheaney (who is known for making saddles in Texas) and he said he used a Weaver "tight corner" edger for projects that require In the absence of an edger labeled a "tight corner edger" on Weaver's site, I contacted Weaver by email to ask if any of the edgers in their catalog would work for me. Bruce Cheaney in his YouTube video referred to their edgers as those that were responding immediately and said that they were indeed the ones Bruce Cheaney mentioned. I am very happy with this edger. I was hoping it would be everything that it is. This edger arrived on time on Amazon yesterday, exactly as they said it would. It's sharp straight out of the box. With its contoured shape, it is comfortable in the hand and can easily edge around tight corners. A sharp edge is so sharp that it can edge even leather on its rough side. It's no longer common to see edgers that are made in the US nowadays. In my situation, as a hobbyist leather worker, and one who is on a tight budget, I don't always buy the most expensive tools, but when it comes to this edger, I was glad I spent the extra money. You can notice a dramatic difference when you use it. Any leather worker with similar needs who has to edge tight corners would definitely benefit from this product.
I started off using tools and supplies I could afford. Now, it is essential to me that a) I use the best quality tools to make the best products, and b) that I use only American made tools and supplies to support the American working class. You may be hesitant about spending $ 40 on an edger if you are thinking about it I assure you that nothing will happen. We use only high-quality hardwood for our wood handles More spacious and better suited to the hand A stainless blade that fits and finishes superbly, especially when used by those with larger hands. This is a highly recommended book! I like the job you did.
I was amazed at how sharp it came and how well it worked. discovered that many of the how to videos appeared to show this edger being used, so I decided to give it a shot. only downside is that now I want to collect them all.
Even though this edger is four times as expensive as the cheap edgers on Amazon, it is night and day better than either of them. The handles are neatly cut, easy to use, and work well for the suede side of leather,.
The Tandy edger I had used for many years finally gave way to the Weaver tool after years of using it. Weaver is the most common tool used by pros. It has made a great deal of difference. With the larger grip, the edges are sharper and easier to control. The total was 3 for a range of edging options depending on the hide thickness.
The curved ends of these are expensive and I do not like them. The bevel becomes difficult to achieve on.
Don't waste your money on cheap items. There are several sizes to choose from. A product of high quality.
The product is worth the price. The design was excellent and it was delivered in a timely manner.
