Questions & Answers

Can you suggest a good way to use it along my driveway, side walks, ect, and make it look neat and clean?

Follow these tips Clearly a cutter is not a shovel and a bucket The hand shovel is not supposed to be used to shovel up grass or to lift sod like Ideally, trim grass or sod by positioning the blade in front of the sidewalk with the shaft vertically against the edge of the sidewalk. Simply stomp straight down on the edger to scrape the grass or sod from the sidewalk edge. You can repeat this process all the way along the sidewalk. Once the grass/sod has been trimmed, use a shovel to easily scoop it up and dispose of Get rid of.

Does this product actually come from Ames, and if so does it have a 15-year warranty? Or is this just ?

It's a pleasure to meet you all, I'm 67 years old, 115 lbs, 5'5", and a woman. What are the chances of this working It's best to do this after a good rain if you have red Alabama clay. ?

The weight of my body is 122 pounds. I am 5'2" and 73 years old. The hand edging technique works well for me in our Alabama coastal sand. A good rain makes it easier, but it takes a lot of work no matter what. This is not so much to do with the quality of the soil as it is with the toughness of the grass.

This is an amazing tool! Thanks to this tool, I was able to accomplish quite a bit! The grass had not been edged on sidewalks for several years, so this was purchased to remove it
5/5

It took me a few days to accomplish the project and a bit of effort, but it was well worth it. I am a senior woman of medium strength and build. My edging turned out beautifully, and I have received lots of positive comments! The item is relatively easy to use and has good durability. In fact, I keep finding new uses for it, which is why it took me a lot of time to figure out how to load It is worth its price and a great product.

I'm doing well
5/5

An excellent hand tool at a reasonable price. If you have tough grass (I do) or leave your grass too long (which is what I always do), edging by hand takes a lot of time and effort. In the case of our ancient concrete driveway, which is showing its age as well as wear, it is especially difficult to work around uneven edges. A few months ago, the edger of my house and I went our separate ways after probably 15 to 20 years of faithful service I broke the handle of the pole less than a yard from the end of the stretch I was edging (of course). After spending time at Lowe's and Home Depot, we found that neither store offered a suitable replacement. Next, my husband purchased a new handle, and he will install it. Several months of inactivity led me to shop Amazon for a new edger instead, and, after examining the worn and rusted blade of the old edger, I decided to update it. In terms of edgers, there are a large number of styles, each with at least two different blade types and several different handle styles. Their price range is also quite a It was this one that I finally chose after much deliberation. It was easier to hold because the handle was made of steel rather than plastic. When I first got it, I was on the fence about the handle style, since my old one had a straight handle, but now I think the T-handle is more comfortable Because of its shape, I am able to use it more efficiently and may also reduce my risk of getting I am also a short person, so it's a good length for me. It's early in the trial of the serrated blade, but it could be a good option, too.

For now, at least, I can recommend this as a fine choice. An affordable product made in the United States.

In my opinion, edging is horrible
5/5

Still, this edger seems to be working There is never any fun in being an edger, but this tool does the job. I was going to get a motorized edger when we moved into our first house, but I decided not to. It had been YEARS since the sidewalks had been edged, so the grass had spread about four inches onto the sidewalk on As I was edging along the sidewalk, I found there was a lot of dirt under the grass. A motorized edger or string trimmer wouldn't have been able to get through the dirt. My edger is pretty ergonomic for a project with no good With my height and weight of 5'7" and 130lbs, I was able to push the blade into the grass and soil all the way down.

I love how it works! To begin with, I purchased this in part because I wasn't able to find anything similar in a brick and mortar store The following companies have a physical location, including Home Depot, Lowe’s, or Ace Hardware Why? I have no idea
5/5

As a rule, I prefer to purchase tools that I can hold rather than from the internet. You never know what you are actually getting without seeing it in person. Having said that, I am extremely pleased with my decision to purchase this sight unseen. Approximately 21 3" of sidewalk lawn overgrowth has grown over the last 10 years, and the edger rips right through it with no problem. There is a lot of help from the serrated edge Taking the initial cut into the sod is easy because I can use it to rock back and forth on a circular motion. This tool works great. I am very pleased with its performance.

I have never seen anything like it
5/5

I used this to install garden edging and my lines looked professional because I was able to make straight and curved lines. For the edging to stay in place and the mower to run over top of it, you need to dig five feet into the ground. Edger digs a 5-foot hole On the first try, the depth was six inches deep. It would have been better if I had.

The best thing about this is that it's inexpensive
5/5

Bring elbow grease. Due to my trimmer failing to edge well, and being too cheap to purchase an electric edger, I decided to buy this instead. * This thing seems to work. There are teeth around the bottom, which enable it to cut through dirt and weeds easily. With the first push into the ground, most of it will be cut away. The effort and time required are obviously greater, but I at least know it will work as long as my body allows it. This type of yard would definitely appeal to smaller homes. It won't work for me if your yard has more than a hundred or so feet.
