I was thrilled to find a stainless steel shovel to mount on the top of my truck camper because I had previously needed one. The shovel was mounted on a luggage rack using a grip fist fastening system, which is commonly used by off-roaders for mounting hi-tech equipment. Shovels and lift jacks are used to change tires. Attachment is very secure. Two rubber straps that wrap around the shovel's handle serve as attachment points. The shovel blade has no contact points and is positioned sideways to prevent water from collecting in the blade. br>br>According to my calendar, the camper and shovel would have been outside for about 40 days since March 2019. I needed the shovel only a week ago. When I crawled up the ladder to retrieve my shovel, much to my dismay, this is what I discovered. The shovel had never been used before, so it was free of foreign material (except road dust) and had no damage to the original finish. The camper (and shovel) are kept in an enclosed, temperature-controlled garage except for the 40 days spent outside. When everything is put away, it stays dry. To say the least, I'm not impressed with the product's stainless aspect. br>br>I contacted the manufacturer, who informed me that this defect is not covered by their lifetime warranty. Awesome! I have shovels from Home Depot that cost $20 and last much longer. I'm not a fan. Unless you want to use WD-40 to clean it. I wouldn't bother unless you want to spend $40 and oil it after every use.
I'm a 78-year-old lady gardener with two titanium hips. It's against the rules to jump on my shovel. This is extremely constrictive. In less than an hour, I was able to clear a 4'x6' patch of sod with this tool. Much safer than jumping on a shovel and potentially falling over. I'm not saying this isn't labor, and I don't believe it was intended to remove sod - However, it was successful. In previously tilled soil, it easily acts as a cultivator. Digs gently to the depths - I successfully relocated old established rhubarb plants to a new location, after a shovel couldn't get under the plant and broke the roots. I was not overly tired at the end of the day. This device will extend my gardening season by ten years.
This is an incredible tool! When you use it, it feels solid and comfortable. It's simple to get a neatly groomed edge. We like the ergonomic handle because it seems to be far more user-friendly than other designs. The blade was reasonably sharp right out of the box, but slight sharpening improved the cutting ability. This has been a lifesaver in terms of improving the appearance of our property in areas where our gas-powered edger couldn't get the job done. It appeals to me. Design, sculpting, and creating new garden bed areas are all possible with this tool. It is easy to clean. Because it's only been a few weeks, I'm hoping that the stainless steel will hold up well. I'll update this review later on how the metal is holding up in comparison to other people who have had rust issues.
This was purchased to replace a broad fork that would become too heavy for me in the future. After doing some research, I decided that since it was under a hundred dollars, it would be worth a shot. I haven't had much opportunity to put it to use yet, but I did give it a go in the garden. It was heavy enough to get in and get the job done, but not so heavy that I couldn't carry it wherever I went. Teeth are strong and penetrate our rocky soil well. The handle allows you to adjust the angle without having to pull it out and try again.
Because of the unique round handle, you can place your hands at any point on the handle, making digging easier and more efficient. Our clay soil doesn't bother the stainless steel tines, and they're still gleaming after nearly a decade of use. My husband prefers it to the old D-handled fork because it is such a useful tool. This is a useful tool for any gardener. I adore mine, and I recently purchased one for my son. You will not be disappointed if you choose this option!.
This isn't your average fork for the garden. This tool will last a long time because it is made entirely of stainless steel and has a steel shank. I use this tool to incorporate organic matter into my soil. I also use it to dig potatoes out of the ground and remove weeds with deep roots. It works well as a soil loosener for a hand tool, and it's built to last for many years. I'll buy it again, but because it's so well made, I'm hoping the company will still be in business in 30 years when I misplace it.
If locating a plant's root is difficult (e. g. , e. g. , e. g. , e. g. , e. g When cutting the root of a plant with large basal leaves, such as burdock, a wider spade, such as Radius' Root Slayer, is less precise in its placement. Otherwise, it's great, and it's a better option for hard soils.
to the present time. Wow - goes in like a knife and gets under weeds that are bothersome. Then I'll try it on all the baby pecan trees that the squirrels have planted. In the fall, I can see it being useful for filling deep bulb holes. Get it.
