Questions & Answers

Does this score lie in the center or off to one side?

I am delighted to tell you that the strip is scored so it can be folded into a V shape between the horizontal and vertical edges These surfaces have vertical profiles. Thank you for your help! This is the Red

When using this product on fiberglass tubs, how does it work?

We used it on a porcelain covered steel tub, so I don't know. In any case, we have composite fiberglass sheeting on both walls, so so far, it has adhered well to both. I will still accept the stipend, even if it is only for 3 years It would be a snap to replace it at such a low price. Before you install it, thoroughly clean the area with a liquid cleaner and wipe it with rubbing The surface needs to be completely clean to ensure that the product sticks.

Could you use it over thin caulk that already exists?

It's not a good idea. I used a flat blade screwdriver to remove as much of the existing caulk as possible. In this way, the new adhesive strip will adhere securely and will not show ridges.

It is an absolute necessity to remove all of the old caulk before using new caulk. ?

It works like a water repellent and attempts to keep water from passing through the underlying base or tile of the tub, shower or floor. In order to get the best, tightest seal, it would be best to cleanly prepare both surfaces. The caulk strip should be pulled up as far as it can go to avoid water getting trapped underneath. Otherwise, mold is likely to It is therefore best to remove the old caulk first and do it right.

As you can see, I like this product now and here is the "added" feature
5/5

As it stands now, I like this product, but here is the "added" thing you need to do to make it
When I used it for the first time after a few months, it started to peel away from the tub edges. I found that the product does not seal well, so water gets behind the stripe even though it is designed to prevent it. The rewrite is extra work, but I know when I get back to As soon as I'd cleaned the surface and put it up again (I doubled the strips) I used caulk to coat the top of the caulk. Where the two strips came together, I caulked this area too so that no water would be able to go * Ja T'aa The product worked excellently and doesn't seem to be adjusting at all. This is about 8 months since it was installed.
All you need to do is put a bead of bathroom caulk or sealer on the strip to hold it in place from the top. Apply sealer or caulk along the top of the strip. I made sure it was dry before I used the shower/tub (1 day). I wish I had looked closer when it started to come off, but now I know and can share the tip.

My experience has been great so far! This was a two year job that I put it on at a straight 90 degree angle at the bottom edge of my tub
5/5

Using a measuring tape and a cutting board, I carefully cut the peel, then cleaned the area. The ends of the shirt were made "prettier" by adding a tiny bit of calk at the corner. Although still looking great, it still looks amazing. Here's a couple of tips to help with application. Do not stretch it or overheat it. Warm it but do not overheat. It is indeed easier to work with warm materials in some ways, although you must be careful not to stretch them when you place them.

Fasten the area with a cloth and wait for it to dry. If it has been stretched then it will come loose, as it tries to shrink back to its original size. Take measurements, take measurements, take measurements. Make sure the sticky is the right length before removing it. As you work with the inside corner, tighten it up. While you place it, press down to ensure it sticks. Make sure not to repeatedly pull it up.

Caulk the ends with a minimal amount of caulk. You'll enjoy it. Thus far there have not been any cons for me, despite the fact that I have not tried to move It is disappointing to learn that others have had similar issues. The stuff I'm talking about is awesome. In my bathroom I use it along the side of my AC unit, along a shelf above my microwave in order to keep stuff from falling behind it and along my window AC unit.

I cannot even begin to describe how much better it will look! The reviewer stated that she used clear caulk to seal the edges after she cut hers after the fact
3/5

I agree with her. At least for me, this will be essential since the walls of my bathtub are lined with panels and there are distinct gaps. It just doesn't stick after pressing strongly on those areas to make the adhesive stick. There is also a lot of bulk around the corners. It might be easier to cut the side strip first, and then lay the long strip on top of it. It would look SO much better if you brought the side strip up to where the back strip intersects the side. In my case, I cut the corner after the fact after it was stitched, and it would have been so much easier had I done it beforehand. I thought that might be of assistance the next time a customer considers Due to the fact that I just applied this to the tub, I cannot comment on stickiness, although a couple of areas seem a little loose, so as the other reviewer suggested, I am getting some clear caulk to resolve this It sure is great not to have to redo anything after I've completed something!.

Definitely a lifesaver
5/5

stocked up on silicone caulk in case I needed it as a backup. The stuff I'm talking about is awesome. It worked much better for me than silicone caulk and I was able to get a professional-looking finish (though slightly different from the instructions) after using a Q-tip to seal the edges I used a tip from my exploded caulk canister to dip into my otherwise worthless A little silicone caulk is all you will need, but don't bother with caulk guns. Consider getting one of those little tubes of silicone caulk with the nozzle that you can pipe into the hole. Caulk around the edges of the tile after it's installed and also in the corners of the strips, along those edges (definitely needed for tiles because of the grooves). For the corners, you are directed to overlap with a tab of the caulking according to the instructions. A knife or box cutters will look far more professional, and can be much easier to clean, if those are the cutting tools you use. You can miter the corner ends and then use silicone to seal the gaps. In order to install the strip properly, make sure the sides of the tub are large enough (where they curve down) to accommodate it, or you might need to trim it before placing it. The flat part should be the one you are aiming for. Make sure you are not trying to cut the tub to fit the contours. I have never experienced an easier caulk job to clean, and this was the simplest caulk job I have Caulk does not have to be ripped up when it comes to cleaning. In comparison to standard caulk, this product has a more plastic feel. This solution makes it very easy to clean your water if you have nasty things in your water, like I do. It doesn't seem to build up the same kind of water issue as I've seen on other stuff. I would suggest that the only drawback to this model might be that it looks like one of those "safety tubs. ". Despite the pictures, I have not noticed something in them, but you will see what I mean if you look at them carefully.

Add additional tile adhesive to this product
3/5

Apply silicone to the back of the tile. In order to work with this product, I followed the directions and advice given by other users. I used a separate grout mixture and adhesive cement. In the absence of an adhesive, you cannot depend on it. There is no way to solve the problem. Adding an additional layer of adhesive to this product will make it It is also important that you apply a thin layer of silicone at the top edge of the strip to prevent water from seeping under it. Make sure that the shower or tub has had a chance to dry completely before using. Please be patient for at least 24 hours.

Does the job, but looks unattractive
3/5

Here are the good points This caulk-free gun is easy to use, as it comes with clear instructions. It can easily cut to any length. It does not require caulking.

Other I did not have a preference, but the look is like a public bathroom. This is just too big and I think it looks cheap. • Rounding corners does not work for me, at least not as pictured. In conclusion, the product did not stay in place and buckled over and over again.

The Bottom Line My goal was to prevent water from getting behind my jacuzzi tub wall. . . which was happening at the time. However, it's ugly in appearance and does the job.

We'll make do with that
4/5

When I have the bathroom caulked, I hate getting a professional to do it for me. You have to apply this caulk very carefully because of its price. I got a case of this caulk for the price. Just like similar products, if you make one wrong move, it will end up off track. I've had it on for a few months and so far it's working well and looks good. The item hasn't been removed, so I am unable to rate it.
