Questions & Answers

The epoxy cures "virtually invisible," according to the product website. Is this correct, or does it have an amber hue?

A good description would be "virtually invisible." It has a translucent appearance, i.e. it can be seen through it. It appears to be the color of the fabric it covers. As it ages and weathers, it may turn yellow. It becomes a translucent material after it has hardened. As a freshly applied thin coat, it is "virtually invisible."

Is it possible to install wrought iron stair balusters (between wooden handrails and shoe rails) with this method?

When I've got my tongue out, I used System 3 to groove two boards and lag screws to hold them in place; I'm assuming I'll never be able to remove the screws- I sheared the head off a 1/4" x 6" screw the last time I attempted it. It's an amazing bond!

Is this a case of two one-quart bottles or two half-quart bottles?

Printed directly on the bottle - 1 pint. When combined, you'll have 1 quart of T-Rex.

This is fantastic! Making a microlight glider out of Sitka spruce at home
5/5

And, believe me when I say this, this stuff is the boss! This epoxy has a good reputation and has been used by wooden aircraft builders for decades. I finally understand why! It may take some practice to get the hang of measuring out exactly the right amount for the job, but this stuff is tough and doesn't shrink. It's fairly easy to sand. Almost anything can be glued to almost anything! It's more durable than the wood it's made of. I'm sure it'll work fine for your furniture or boat builds if it's been thoroughly verified and tested for use on wooden aircraft where your life is literally on the line. I would strongly suggest it.

It worked wonderfully; only time will tell if it will continue to work
5/5

This epoxy was used to repair a rotted/caveated wood deck and floor. Soak for 30 minutes. After that, I made a batch of overfill. The only thing I regret is that I didn't use heat to pop all of the bubbles. Before I finish painting the wood, I'm going to sand it down a little. I've uploaded some photos of small fill-ins. when it had dried clear, a photo of major wood damage, and a photo of damaged wood being repaired.

The strength is incredible
4/5

The main field panels have tongues that fit into grooves in the top and bottom horizontal rails, so I bought this epoxy to join the pieces together on a queen size bed project. These rails also have tenons that fit into mortises in the corner posts. I used this epoxy in all of those joints, as well as on the sides of the panels to join them. I'm fairly certain I could push this thing off my roof and it would still be intact! This epoxy isn't one to mess around with. The only drawback was that the epoxy would creep up and out of the nozzle after use, running down the bottle and all over the place. This happened despite the fact that it was capped off. To avoid this, keep squeezing the bottle after filling your mixing container and turning it right side up. I ended up sitting the bottles in plastic Italian ice cups to contain the mess because there's a bubble that needs to pop in order to relieve pressure. It's difficult to explain, but it really caused a mess throughout the project. The only reason I deducted a star was because of this. Apart from that, it served me well in my project.

This epoxy is outstanding
5/5

This epoxy is something I buy on a regular basis, and it works great for metal to metal and wood to metal bonding. I always buy a half gallon - it's the most convenient size for me. as I did recently. I bought these containers specifically because I needed a sturdy bottle with a nozzle for my project - only to discover that the bottles I received did not have nozzles, but instead had screw top lids. I'll use the epoxy, but it's inconvenient to order a product based on an image and receive something different.

It was impossible to heal
3/5

This was a complete disaster. I attempted to test the bond strength of wood on two separate occasions. I combined 1: 1 thoroughly and evenly on the wood, keeping an eye out for any starved joints. The epoxy had not cured when I checked the items 48 hours later. As a result, I gave it another shot. After 72 hours of clamping, the epoxy still hasn't cured on the fourth day. The temperature was always between 65 and 75 degrees Fahrenheit during both tests, which were conducted indoors. I'm stuck with epoxy that doesn't work because the return deadline has passed. Because the gluing I'm doing has to be perfect, I'll have to go with West Systems or something from Jamestown Distributors that will most likely work and can be returned or at the very least addressed if it doesn't.

Make sure you have the correct mixture 100% before starting
4/5

I bought this t- 88 as a test for finding a low-cost, dependable epoxy for filling gaps and cracks in wood burls. I had previously only used the double tube epoxy available at your local home improvement store. br>br>After mixing and filling a few batches, I discovered that some were not hardening completely and remained slightly tacky, while others hardened perfectly, despite the fact that they all came from the same bottles. My only conclusion is that I was either over or under on the mixture because I was eyeballing the quantities. As a result, I'll be much more cautious with the formula in the future.

Epoxy of the highest quality
5/5

For the past 40 years, I've been creating "heirloom quality" custom woodwork, and I've relied on "word of mouth" to keep my business afloat. I don't use anything but the best materials and products; it costs a little more to do things the "Old School Way" - The Best, Strongest, and Easiest Epoxy Adhesive to Use System Three Epoxy is the Best, Strongest, and Easiest Epoxy Adhesive to Use System Three Epoxy is the Best, Strongest, and Easiest Ep (When using exciot species, wipe the area to be glued down with acetone and allow it to dry) Thank you again, Amazon, and to all who take the time to review the products we use - for the benefit of others).

Woodworking is a breeze
5/5

This was the first time I used a woodworking epoxy with a longer set time. The instructions were simple to follow, and the product did exactly what it said it would. Working with the epoxy took at least 45 minutes using the standard mix ratio. The epoxy cures in about 24 hours and is extremely tough and long-lasting. Because the epoxy is difficult to sand or scrape, don't overfill cracks and voids.
