Despite the fact that some adhesive may have leaked onto the wood.
Yes, just like a tape measure, the inch runs out.
I'm going to make an educated guess. It would certainly wrap around the pipe and stick to it, but I am not 100% sure about it sticking lengthwise. Using contact cement on both the pipe and the backside of the tape might The tape has a good adhesive on the back side, and I've used it to cut a straight piece of flat vinyl along the top of a fence. off the saw, and it's held up well.

I placed an order for two of these. My miter saw bench has two sides, one for the left and one for the right. They could be read left or right, according to the Amazon information. That's completely incorrect. Only right to left reading is possible. As a result, I can only use one for the saw's left side. Now I'm having trouble finding one that matches the left side of the saw.
br>On the Unisaw's rail, there is a recess for a 3/4" tape, but I couldn't find a Right to Left 3/4" tape, so I used this 1/2" tape instead, which is very easy to read. It's a metal tape, which means it'll last a long time. br>The tape's adhesive backing is excellent, and I was able to lay it flat. br>THE FIRST FEET OF THE TAPE HAS 1/32" GRADUATIONS, WHICH IS GREAT FOR PRECISION CUTTING. br>FANTASTIC PRICE: This tape was a great deal at $7 at the time of purchase, especially for a 12' tape. So I wasn't too upset because I only needed to use the first 3 feet of the tape:.
When I first started building my shop, I decided that a fence with a built-in measuring feature would be useful, so the Starrett was born. Now, I'll admit that I'm a little biased because I use Starrett measuring tools because they've proven to be extremely accurate for me, and this tape is no exception. I bought several of these in various sizes to use on my miter saw station, router table, and even as a table saw tape replacement. The adhesive is excellent and keeps the tape flat on the surface, and, as previously stated, they are accurate; I've compared these to other measuring tools and they all read the same, which is critical. So, if you're looking for a tape measure that sticks, you've come to the right place.
From 7" to 30", the tape was perfectly accurate. I'm not sure what's causing my difficulties. However, accuracy suffers when going from a 7" to a 6" measurement. The biggest difference is between 7" and 6", but as you get closer to 0, the difference grows until it's about 1/16 of an inch off at 1/4". Measurements from 7" to 0 are overly long. Maybe I stretched out the tape in some way, but since it's metal, I'm not sure how that happened.
They're fantastic! br>br> br>br>I have one "embedded" in both ends of my 8' work bench so I can get my long cutting fence lined up perfectly every time without having to get out a tape measure; I simply align the starting point of the measuring tape with my saw blade for a perfect cut every time.
The one I got is for a miter saw, and it should be to the LEFT of the blade. If you don't choose the correct one, the numbers will be reversed. br>br>My only criticism is that the 1/32" gradation (which I specifically requested) only covers the first 12 inches. It's then 1/16" after that. It's adequate for most tasks, but it's not what I was hoping for.
With this tape, you can put up many areas around your shop where you might need to take a measurement; the only disadvantage I see is that instead of being in sections, the tape is in one continuous length. four 3- foot sections, or a combination of the two. It has a range of 1 to 12 feet in height. If you want to mount it to a wooden surface, I found that applying a small amount of contact cement to the wood surface only first helps it stay in place a lot better.
This, like all Starrett products, is of the highest possible professional quality. I used it to make a table saw, and it works great, holds up well, and, of course, the measurements are spot on, as they always are with Starrett products.
