The six stars are here! It's great that LeverLock offers a tape measure with levers. The first one I had was well over 20 years ago, and the tape still works fine. It is getting worn out, so I purchased a spare to have on hand. A lock with a cylinder key is usually less cumbersome and easier to use than one with a other brands that perform a similar function, but none of them follow the same process. The LeverLock has a precise clutch that eases the speed at which the blade retracts, the others even for occasional 'around the house' type chores are already fully released, this makes a great deal of difference for professionals but the average individual will appreciate this valuable feature too. The LeverLock should now come in a Fat Max version, with a longer standout.
Because I have owned 25' Stanley Lever Locks for years, I assumed the 30' model would be a slightly longer version of it. The majority of the time, that's true. The one notable exception is the following. A smaller belt clip is made of a more flexible metal and is made of a smaller size. I am left with an object that unhooks easily from my belt seems to happen at It has bounced happily off the roof four times in the last few weeks, and I am now beginning to suspect it is deliberately doing this. The good news is that it doesn't seem to care if it falls 20 feet onto patio bricks or dense landscaping. The design is flawed, but it works great aside from the clip. I'm glad the durability compensates the.
Easily portable measuring tape with a length of 25'. The spring can be extended over 7' without a lot of Wide, stable tape that is good for long-term use. Tape must be extracted by squeezing the release button. Without squeezing, it pulls out tape without squeezing, but it has excessive drag, so it requires that the release be held during the entire length of tape extracted. There is no overhang of the hook on the bottom of the case. Therefore, it needs to be operated with two hands. In order to use the tape, one must squeeze the release and the other must grab the hook and pull the tape a little bit out. If moisture, dirt, dust, sawdust are present, the lettering may not last as long. It really needs to have an extended hook that protrudes 1/16" below the case housing, a lock release that allows easy tape extraction, and protected numbers/coating to ensure durability. The release lever can sometimes be easily used to retract the tape, but sometimes it will slam into the housing when the last three feet are retracted. Even though the price is so low, I will not purchase it again.
Although the tape measure is nice, it does not compare to the original Lever Lock tape measure. A Lever Lock that I have had for close to twenty years still works perfectly. This is the second book I have purchased and I was hoping the quality would be similar. Despite liking the tape, I am not so keen on the plastic and the clip is far too Luckily, I was able to move the clip from my old device over to the new one, so I'm hoping that I'll get just as many years out of it as I did with my previous device.
Ultimately, this tape measure has been a life-saver for me! The old style one I had became useless after my fiancé used it, so I bought a new one she loves it as well. As a person with dexterity problems, pulling out the tape and putting it back into its place was not convenient Being able to keep it is very important. When the tape retracts, I don't have to worry about forgetting the measurement that I just took before writing it down, because it doesn't retract until I allow it to. Unlike the previous style, the new style does not It has a no-marring base, so even if you hook it on a board and bend it back & forth your board won't mar the surface Using the slider, raise it. * You won't have any marks on your board. This is my third 12' Stanley tape & it hasn't ever failed me. Since it has worked well so far, I cannot see the need to change it.
It has been a couple of years since I last used them. As long as the lever lock type is engaged, there is no need to slide a brake button to maintain the length of the tape If you extend or retract the tape however much you need, it stays out until you press the retract button and it is pulled back in again by the spring. Good coating on a nice thick piece of steel It is possible to extend the tape up to 8 inches The weight of the item causes it to collapse after 10 feet. It is quite messy in my irrigation repair business, and when the tape gets muddy, it starts to abrade the coating, then rust follows, and eventually these become inoperable. The one in my shop (which is always dry) gets at least a year or two of use, but the one out in the field gets much more. A valuable tool and one of the best values on the market.
This is probably the best tape I've ever seen for general purposes. This tape retractor is made from ABS, which feels durable, yet lightweight. It is easy to grip, but the release button must not be accidentally pressed On the bottom, the lever lock requires a small amount of effort to lock, but it does not retract too quickly (the dreaded snap-back). Despite its elasticity, the tape itself is very durable but does flex fairly easily. In spite of bending it around metal surfaces and snapping it back and forth, the fractional scale and markings are remarkably well printed and easy to read, and the yellow paint seems sturdy enough to last a very long time. A magnet strong enough to pull the measuring tape even though it is made of thin steel isn't a problem at all. Additionally, you can easily remove it if you prefer not to have it in your The pros are Please note
A quality product that holds up well* - The handle is easy to grip and lightweight - During retracting, there is no squeezing or fluttering. The painted and marked tape are of a high quality - It is valuable to have a strong magnet that can be easily removed
*Cons It's not as cheap as you might expect. Please note
A few minor issues with the metal clip on the side - I would recommend this tape measure if you are in need of a tape measure for woodwork, building, crafts, and around the house. It is slightly bulky, but I would still recommend it. A very good value for the money.
The markings and features of these are just right, and they are incredibly well built. Lever locks are very good and easy to disengage, so they are a great choice. Those tape measures are my favorite type, and I use them all the time as I am a professional carpenter. So far, I have only used it inside, so I haven't seen how it reacts to getting wet.
