Questions & Answers

Is there a door on the side with the brand name "Kordon" that I can open so that I can put a photograph in? I have an older one who is able to do so. ?

Komelon, not Kordon, is the name of the character.

What's the best way for me to choose a color? Which one do you think I'd go for, blue or green?

The color is decided by them. Each time, I get orange.

Is it flexible enough to fit a 3" diameter? pipe?

Without a doubt. This tape is very flexible and is used to measure trees.

This, according to Amazon, is a 5. 9 x 3. 8 x 0. 7 inches. Is it truly that large?

Right now, I'm measuring my own and it's 2-inches long. 1 inch thick with a quarter-inch diameter. On one side, there's a strong magnet that's ideal for measuring the circumference of ductwork to determine its diameter. At work, I purchased one for each of my project engineers. It is something that I would suggest.

A good small tape measure that isn't too small
5/5

This is the tape measure to get if you want a small tape measure that you can use comfortably. No, it's not the tiniest tape; if you're looking for the tiniest tape, there are better options. It's also not 'industrial' if you want a high-end look. There are better options for line tape in everyday carpentry use. This tape, in my opinion, strikes the best balance of 'compact' and 'usable' that I have come across. It has a much larger standout (a little over 3 feet for mine) and a tip that doesn't come unhooked when you try to measure something, compared to the tiny tapes. There is no such thing as a 'lock' in the traditional sense. The rewind mechanism is connected to one side of the tape by a disc that is about 2/3 or 4/3 the diameter of the tape itself. The tape is held in place by applying pressure to it (as if you were trying to squeeze the sides together). It's simple to grab the tape, pull out what you need, and simply 'hold' it in place with pressure after a little practice. It also makes controlling the rewind speed very simple, which I appreciate. br>The size is 2 1/4 inches in diameter and 3/4 inch thick. It has a magnet on the back instead of a clip like a standard tape, so it's smaller and less likely to snag if you carry it in your pocket. For everyday use, it's a little bulky to carry in a pocket; instead, get a truly compact tape (my favorite ultra compact tape is my Komelon 10-inch). Model 4110) is a ft keychain tape. Get a full-featured computer for business use. sized one (the Milwaukee and FastCap 16 or 25 footers are my favorites). The little tiny tapes are nice where space is a premium, but for just a little more size (mostly in thickness) you can have a tape that offers MUCH easier readability (the lines and numbers on the little 1/4 inch wide compact tape are TINY) as well as 3 foes.

It's convenient, if not perfect
4/5

This is a small tape measure that comes in handy. I liked it so much that I bought two more after the first. After storing one in the freezer compartment of my side-by-side refrigerator, On different floors of the house, I found extras for a chest freezer and a small dorm refrigerator. There will be no more stair climbing to get the tape measure. I seem to require such items on a different level of the house, regardless of where they are located. br>br> As other reviewers have stated, I have had no problems with the magnet. However, I would suggest that mine be placed in low-traffic areas rather than on frequently used appliances or doors. br>br>I gave it four stars rather than five because of two factors:
1. It isn't a "locking" tape measure at all. You can lock it by holding the button down, but you must keep holding it or it will recoil. That does not strike me as "locking. " The locking feature comes in handy a surprising number of times. You won't know you don't have it until you don't have it anymore. In this regard, I believe the description is a little misleading. br>br>2. There are no metric markings on it. I understand that the space is limited, but they could have used metric on one side and inches on the other. I was aware of this when I purchased it, but I was willing to overlook it in favor of other features. br>br>Overall, it's a stylish and practical tape measure for household tasks.

It's small enough to carry around in your pocket
5/5

It's very useful. Its minimalist design keeps it small and portable while still being functional and simple to use. When I need a tape measure, I usually don't have one on hand. This is usually due to the fact that most are bulky and heavy to carry around all of the time, whereas this one is small and light enough to fit easily into my pocket. Because I work with and inspect pipes on a regular basis, I appreciate the diameter scale on the reverse side. The "touch lock" is a bit of a gimmick. There isn't a lock at all. You simply hold it open with your grip, and when you let go of it, it retracts. That isn't a security system. It's simply referred to as "fingers. " It's still a useful tool, despite the marketing nonsense. Time will tell if the plastic construction will hold up over time, but I'm happy with the weight savings that plastic provides, so it's a trade-off I'm willing to make, and this tool is cheap enough to replace if I manage to break it. Plastic tape measures aren't uncommon these days, but clear plastics, in my experience, are more brittle and susceptible to cracking. This plastic has a slightly better grip than standard polycarbonate, so it may be more durable as well. For what it's worth, it seems to be of high quality.

It was a real letdown
3/5

I'm mostly disappointed that this tape measure only measures in inches, which means that anything measured in centimeters or millimeters must be converted first, and vice versa. Another disappointment is that the tape measure continues to fall while the magnet remains attached to the refrigerator. I've even tried putting it on the front of the house where there is no heat, but it still comes off after a day or two. Finally, to keep the center from retracting, you must press down firmly on it. Overall, I'm disappointed, and if I had the option to return it (I live in another country), I would have done so.

Everything will be fine
3/5

However, keeping it open is a challenge. When I go furniture shopping or to the hardware store, I like to have a tape measure in my pocket. This one is smooth and round, but it's too thick to fit in a pocket comfortably. Plus, in order to keep the inner silver bezel from retracting, you must squeeze it, which means you must do something different depending on which hand you use and which side you pull from- That's far too complicated for such a basic tool. It almost always retracts unexpectedly, so I replaced it with a simple Stanley 10-foot extension cord. foot 1/4- a tape measure of inches.

This is an excellent measuring tool to have around the house
5/5

I have two of these in various rooms of my house, one in my study and the other in our living room. Instead of scrambling around the house looking for a measuring tape, I pick one up and hand it to them. They're small, readable, and, best of all, cheap, and you can easily lock them in place by squeezing the middle. Everything from my rug size to the hem of my pant leg requires a measuring device that is always close at hand. I'll continue to buy these until they're no longer available. This book comes highly recommended.
