My obsession with making perfect cuts came to an end once I discovered One of the pipe fitters I saw using it, and I found out where to buy it by searching. This pipe marking tool is made of thick cardboard-type treated paper so it is easy to use, thick enough to mark pipe with a marker quickly and simply, strong enough to last for years, and wraps around pipe easily to line up. Using this method, I can make my cuts with a high margin of accuracy without angled cuts (Bologna Cuts).
It doesn't look like they'll last any more than a day on the job. As soon as I received it, I sent it back.
After less than a week of use, it began.
you are like me, you had an old wrap around that looked like it was made of garlock 900. This new wrap around is made of thin pathetic paper, don't waste your money.
The purpose of having this tool is to be able to draw a straight line as close to the pipe as possible before a cut
Every pipe fitter should own this device. I purchased it on 3/5/2020.
It was important for me to have something that is sturdy and accurate, and this is it. This material is rugged and easy to use, it keeps its place and I've been using it for a while now with no issues. I would recommend it to anyone.
A friend of mine and I used one of these at his shop to mark tubing that needed I ordered one for myself because I liked it so much. This simple tool is inexpensive and very useful.
