These are nice steel rules, but they are not exactly as described. They're made in Japan rather than the United States (not that it matters; Mitutoyo is Japanese, after all). In addition, rather than being on top, the finer inch scale is on the bottom. br>br>If it matters for your purposes, they're slightly less than 1/2' wide. Getting closer to 0 They're 4725" wide, and they're almost exactly 6" (6. 25"). According to my calipers, it's 0000". They're a little more flexible than I anticipated, but not at all flimsy.
If you're a machinist, you'll need a ruler that's divided into 10ths, 1/8s, and so on. When was the last time you heard a machine shop employee say, "We need to take off 3/32 of an inch?" It's all about you. These measurements are simple to make with this ruler. I keep it in a pen slot on the inside of my shirt pocket. When less precision than that of a caliper is required, this tool comes in handy. I'm not sure why I put it off for so long!.
The tenths of an inch mm on the back side, hundredths (graduations are very fine, crisp, and legible, with easy-to-count alternating tick lengths). For anyone who works with metal or mechanical items, this is the most useful combination. The rule is thin and slender, allowing it to easily follow gently curved surfaces. It's a pleasure to use. Now, if Starrett would just bring their production back home (or at the very least move it out of a country that imprisons and enslaves its minorities), I might reconsider their products. As it stands, I'll go with Mitutoyo's excellent Made-in-Japan Made-in-Japan Made-in-Japan Made-in-J All day, every day, Japan quality. This is the one I use the most. to the ruler in your pocket.
It's ideal for imperial scale in the tenths and hundredths, and it's far more useful in the 32nds than traditional, low-cost rulers. However, it also includes metric millimeters and half millimeters! I intend to purchase a second one. br>br> After that, it's off to find its older sibling!.
Scales are in inches and millimeters. This is a nice, easy-to-read 6" steel rule. It has two scales, one with Imperial units on one side and the other with millimeter 1/2 millimeter. I like that the imperial side has tenths and hundredths, because I do machining and find that scale to be much more convenient than 32nds and 64ths. The finish is a little brighter than the Starrett scale I inherited, but this could be due to the Starrett scale's age. Overall, the Mitutoyo scale is quite nice, and it comes highly recommended.
When you're an engineer, you need a reliable steel scale. I've had one for the majority of my professional life, and it used to sit on my office desk. I've been working from home for over a year, and my office is still at home, so I needed a good tenths-graduation ruler. inch a few weeks ago and went with this option. to do the styling for me If you enjoy a good six-pack of beer, this is the one for you. You'll enjoy this one on a steel scale:.
It's great that it's got a 0 rating. 1 and 0. 01 inch on one side, mm on the other, and 1/2 mm on the other, which is a good combination for small electronic projects. br>br>The six-inch ruler is five inches long. 9960" is more than adequate for my requirements. br>br>The lettering has excellent contrast and can be read from a variety of angles, in various lighting conditions, and even from a distance of 16 feet. 18" away.
The dimensions are 6 inches by 6 inches. 0" in length. The width is 472" and the length is approximately. I use it all the time to touch off tooling or to roughly measure lengths or thickness is a little flexible but for the money I think this is a nice machinist ruler, it comes with a red plastic sheath where you can store it, the only thing I don't like about it is that it took about 3 weeks to arrive but it serves its purpose so I'm satisfied.
