Selected User Reviews For BOSCH GLM20 Blaze 65ft Laser Distance Measure With Real Time Measuring
I bought this to measure the interior and exterior of houses as a real estate appraiser. Because this is one of the more affordable models, it does not always work perfectly, but it is adequate for light measurements. It's supposed to work up to 65 feet, but I've found that anything beyond about 40 feet, especially in larger buildings, is difficult to get. However, the measurements are extremely accurate. This is an excellent option if you want or need to do some light measuring without investing in a high-end tool. If you're going to be measuring a lot of space or distance, a higher-end model might be worth it.
I'm not sure why. Every day, I have to walk through several houses to inspect rough openings for windows and doors. I hoped that by doing so, I would be able to reduce the amount of time it took to complete each house. I discovered that using a tape measure made them go faster. br>br>The constant fumbling with the button to hold the measurement, the small readout, and the backlight that always went out too soon became irritating. It would also turn off by itself for no apparent reason. br>br>I started double-checking the measurements with a tape because I was losing faith in it. I ended up going back to tape in the end. br>br>It's a cute gimmick, but it's not practical in my situation.
As a result, it's highly unlikely that it's correct. If you have a clear line of sight, this laser measure can help with ALL of those issues. With just a single click, you can get an exact measurement. When a contractor saw me using this one day, he questioned my measurements. "What did you get?" he asked after pulling out his metal tape and fumbling with it while measuring. When I confirmed the measurement, he raised his eyebrows as if impressed and simply nodded, as if to say "wow. " That was unexpected! " I would strongly recommend this to anyone who needs to accurately measure interiors! This is fantastic, and I strongly advise you to check it out!.
Although it appears to function properly, I would never recommend purchasing it. To open the package, I had to saw through it for ten minutes. For two reasons, this is a bad idea:
1. Bosch is totally tone-deaf. The environment has gone deafeningly silent. This kind of packaging is completely unnecessary, particularly when the item is being delivered to my home.
2. It's absurd that it takes ten minutes to open a package. Scissors, shears, and even a razor blade were ineffective. Using my knife, I had to saw it open.
The GLM15 ("Basic Unit") and GLM20 reviews are being grouped together on Amazon. The GLM20 will be the subject of this review. br>br>IN USE: br>br> The following instructions will show you how to use the laser measure: When you turn it on, it provides real-time information. measurements of time It will hold that measurement if you press the button once (there is only one). If you press the button once more, new real-time information will appear. Time measurements are taken while the previous measurement is displayed. This is better than my Stanley laser measure, which requires two button presses to take a measurement. The measurements are taken from the tool's back edge, so you can measure the distance between two walls by holding it against one. ACCURATE: br>br>ACCURATE: br>br>ACCURATE: br>br>ACC I used a tape measure to measure it at 2 feet and 6 feet, and it was spot on both times. I also put it to the test against itself, taking multiple measurements of the same distance and finding that the results were always the same. br>br>ERGONOMICS: This Bosch is smaller and lighter than my Stanley, and it fits comfortably in the hand (sizing is shown in the photo). OTHER FEATURES: br>br> shutting down automatically (After five minutes, it will be switched off); (feet) is a movable measurement unit. meters, inches, or inches only); display with backlighting Included are batteries. CONS: br>br> This Bosch is incapable of performing any calculations (area, volume, distance differences, and so on). You'll have to look elsewhere if those features are important to you.
I went with the cheapest Bosch GLM20 and am very happy with it. Handyman services for the home After years of admiration for the concept, I finally purchased one. I find myself suddenly measuring everything in my home to see how simple it is. This is a great tool to have in my toolbox for the price. Because it relies on reflected laser light to work, it's best used when both ends of the distance to be measured are facing each other (such as opposite walls or inside a window frame). It's still simple to measure flat objects, such as by placing an object at the end of a coffee table and aiming the laser at it.
This is by far the best work and play toy I've ever purchased. This is what I bring with me when I go shopping. It's what I use to re-arrange rooms and furniture. as well as walls and windows I can measure just about anything if I stow this in my purse. There will be no more tape measures flinging themselves back onto my hands or head. There's no need for someone else to hold the tape any longer. Taking it from my purse and using it in front of the construction crew, on the other hand, gets a lot of laughs. I don't know how I survived before it.
I had been using an older model of this laser measure (which had served me well for a long time and had withstood a lot of abuse and still works, but it was time to upgrade). The new version has a few minor changes that make a big difference. To begin with, the screen is backlit, so you can see the numbers on the screen even if you're measuring in a basement or other dark environment. I was always looking for light sources or having to pull out my phone to use as a light with the previous model, which was a juggle when you were also trying to draw out some plans. The grip has been improved, and the range has been increased - Instead of 50', they went with 65' (which was often insufficient in unfinished basements). br>In a nutshell, I adore this tiny object. Other brands' laser measures have extra bells and whistles (like a level or the ability to store up to five previous measurements), but I often think that too many extra features complicate what should be a simple tool. This model is the ideal laser measuring device for me. It's beautifully designed and a joy to work with.
