These are made of steel, and if not stored properly or exposed to moisture, they will corrode. Normal steel is used to make these squares.
Here are the inner dimensions of the 2" unit that I purchased: 2" on the tall side, 1 1/4" on the short side.
I'm not sure why Amazon thought I might be able to assist with this query. This is a kit that I did not order. br>I only received one Groz Steel Square (the medium-sized one shown in the photo). Before you order it, you should probably double-check with the seller.

I haven't yet had the chance to put it to use; They do, however, appear to be of excellent quality. My gripe is with the squares' packaging. Model 01110 is depicted in all of the photos, including the GROZ corporate photos, as a molded plastic snap-close case with molded cavities for each individual square. My set came in a small cardboard box with only flimsy Styrofoam separators. The squares were only labeled with the GROZ name and logo, rather than the detailed descriptive information shown in all of the photos (this, of course, has no bearing on their use or accuracy). Although the hard plastic case was not specifically mentioned in the product's description text, EVERY SINGLE PHOTO, as well as the narrative descriptions, shows the case. It's reasonable to expect a little more corporate accuracy and consistency. One final point to consider: Despite the fact that these squares are made in India, the Amazon ad only mentions GROZ as a company based in the United States.
This square has left me feeling very let down. For $60, I expected something that was perfectly square along its entire length, not something that was 3mm off. It's hilariously out of place.
inch. I bought two of the 2" x 2-inch buggers. 13/16") for my shop aprons (one for woodworking and the other for welding and metal fabrication). Both squares arrived with a nick along the inside edge of the blades, causing a few thousandths-of-a-millimeter of a millimeter of a millimeter of a millimeter of a millimeter of When I nest one square inside the other, I don't get an inch of daylight. I MIGHT be able to magnify the squares and use a fine water stone to remove the nicks, but 1) I shouldn't have to, and 2) I'm not sure if I should even try. br>Even with the nicks, the little 2" buggers are fantastic for quick checks of woodworking, welding, assembly, and so on, but I wouldn't even consider certifying them for a toolroom.
4- Because of the nicks, it is only a one-star product; otherwise, it is a five-star product.
A tool and die maker taught me how to machinist. This is a very basic square. The item I received is labeled "Made in India" and appears to be exactly like the one pictured in the listing. Unfortunately, the square that arrived was not usable. . . . due to the fact that it isn't square. Those curious as to how bad a simple square can be should know that the seat base is slanted and was cut freehand with a disk grinder. This is a poor excuse for a tool. . . . Not in my store, thank you very much.
Accurate, the edges are smooth enough not to damage the wood's surface, and the sight burr is sharp enough to stay in place while marking with one hand. This square has made me very happy. Make sure to oil them on a regular basis and store them away from moisture, as they will rust if not properly cared for.
The 9" version is the subject of this review. By a factor of, it's not square. 030" all the way around. It's a farce. It's a shame, because I purchased the 2" model first, and it doesn't have the same issue.
When it comes to tools, the old adage "you get what you pay for" holds true. These tools are fine; they arrived covered in oil, and I had to spend a few minutes cleaning them up, which was not a big deal, but you can tell when a manufacturer cares and when they don't.
This set is the best value for money you'll find. Perfect for laying out hinge mortises, as well as setting up tools and verifying accuracy. especially when absolute perfection is required.
