Travel Berkey Gravity-Fed Water Filter with 2 Black Berkey Purification Elements

A lot of good things were said about this water filter, so I decided to get The $200+ I spent was a waste of time. I found the instructions inadequate when building the filter. The instructions and diagrams looked like they were drawn by someone who was not an English speaker. It was YouTube that provided the instructions that I needed to finish the project. After a day, it wouldn't filter any water anymore. There was no drip from the upper chamber as it sat in the top chamber. It said that I needed to clean the filters, so I did so. A couple of days ago it finally started filtering again, but now it doesn't. It doesn't make sense to me why filters need to be cleaned every two days when I only use city water. The process is a big waste of time and water, since I have to deal with all the water to clean it every other day, since I have to drain it. There is not a single thing I regret about In fact, I'm about to throw this awful thing away!.

Dye test with red dye I completed 3 cycles of water before the test. I completed the unit's rinse out before the test. Answer to question Is this filter meant to serve a specific purpose? The question is When comparing the city tap and the after, why is the ppm higher? The question is Is there any reason why the ppm exceeded after testing the water from the city's tap? The question is Has the filter I received been faulty? The question is Unless the filters are only for testing how well the system can filter red food dye, are they for more than that? The question is When the water reading is 526 parts per million, does that mean it is fit for consumption?.

When I first tried it, it was great and tasted amazing. After six months, though, I ran the red food color test with Mccormick red food coloring and the food color is not at all being filtered out. There seems to be a problem with the distributor's help line so I can not call for help or replacement filters because it is disconnected.

The filters did not remove the red food coloring test recommended by We returned the replacement Travel Berkey to Amazon as well due to the failure of the test.

I think it arrived reasonably quickly and was well packed. nice and is the right size to be left on the counter for daily use. They tried to remedy this by inserting a slip to better describe what they want you to do, but even that is a hot mess. They have faded hard to see pictures, cluttered busy instructions referencing items that are not on the picture diagram, and colored items that are not there. The instructions for priming filters were terrible, so it was a learn as you go procedure. I've not filtered a gallon of water yet despite being 10 hours into the day. Many times I have disassembled and reassembled Spigot, but it leaks. There is no way for the rubber gaskets to fit the tank's curve. My plan is to use a better seal tomorrow, so I'm leaving it in the sink until it drips. It is a very expensive filtration system. I'm really disappointed. The next time I buy, I won't. A quick update Therefore, I went to YouTube and discovered that if I put the gaskets back where they were supposed to go originally (convex gasket on inside of tank, not the revised insert instructions that say inside the tank, I had no issues leaking. My research on the different filtration systems led me to purchase this filter back in May 2016. Despite its small size, the Berkey Travel fits on our counter perfectly. The product arrived in perfect condition, and we could immediately taste the difference in the water. threading, so it was ripped off its attachment to the upper chamber because it had a defect on the thread, and the washer that holds it on ended up being stripped. My best efforts were directed at cleaning up the faulty threads and purchasing a replacement washer so the filter would hold in place with enough tension for a tight I noticed that the water came through pink when I tested it with red dye. The filters are installed on both. The sad face of a child. There is still pink water in the pump after washing and priming both several times. I did a quick search on the internet and it turns out that Berkey Black filters have been prone to manufacturing I imagine we will continue to use the system, but likely using Doulton 7" filters rather than the Berkey Black filters that came with it. Filtering water is cheaper, and if everything goes well, they will actually do the job.
