Questions & Answers
Yes, it can be installed in a standard faucet hole. The mounting dimension ranges from 1/2" D to 1-inch D. D Hole of 1/4"
The faucet's body resembles a Coca-Cola bottle.
It comes with an adapter that allows you to connect directly to a 3/8" compression fitting on a standard angle stop using your 1/4" water line. I used a tee with a standard 1/2" x 3/8" angle stop that connects directly to the faucet so that I can turn it off on its own.
This faucet took the place of my reverse osmosis unit. It really works.

I needed to replace the dispenser that came with my Apec RO-2000. The wife wanted a door that she didn't have to manually hold open six years ago. This unit was significantly less expensive than the Moen dispenser, and it received higher ratings than some of the other units in its price range. The installation was simple, but working under the kitchen sink in the tight space between the sink bowl and the cabinet sides is challenging. br>br>One point to remember when installing: If you don't have soft jawed pliers, use an old belt or other thick piece of leather to keep the dispenser in place while you tighten the nut underneath. This will keep the pliers' jaws from digging into the soft metal of the dispenser.
This faucet is of exceptional quality. It replaced a 3/8" faucet, which I preferred because of the much higher flow rate, but it was badly rusted and I couldn't find a good 3/8" replacement. I didn't need anything else besides a 3/8 to 1/4 quick connect adapter because the on/off knob is extremely smooth, and the provided gasket and crush fitting were very useful. The quality of the box in which the faucet arrived was also quite good. Normally, you'd get these from Amazon in a plastic bag or rattling around in a cheap dented box with some foam inside, but this came in a product-formed box that didn't allow anything to move or rattle. It's clear that the company behind this product wanted to make a high-quality, long-lasting product. I thought it was a little pricey for what it is, but now that I have it, I'm glad I paid the extra $5-$10 for it. It was only $10, but it was well worth it. Please note that this is NOT an air gap conversion kit; I had already converted mine, but I recommended this product to a friend who had to order air gap conversion pieces.
We were concerned about how well it would fit (it's twice as tall) and how simple it would be to put together. It went up quickly and easily, and it's a huge improvement over the previous one! The on/off handle is fantastic, and it's far superior to pressing a plastic switch. The water has a pleasant taste to it, with no off flavors. br>I wish we would have done this years ago!.
br>I'm not sure why there's an exposed rubber washer/gasket at the bottom; I'd expect it to be hidden or made of a hard plastic. The rubber will simply degrade over time. In terms of washer options/placement, the illustration in the instructions isn't very clear.
It's simple to fit large water bottles underneath it. It included a white snap-on piece that connects the faucet base to the tubing beneath it. This is a factory-installed (it was installed on the bottom of the faucet right out of the box) slide-on attachment that is not threaded or adhered to the faucet base in any way. As a result, the attachment slid off the base after only one day of use, flooding the kitchen floor and beneath the sink. I wouldn't recommend it because a threaded plumbing attachment is much more reliable and won't fall off and flood your floor. For a replacement, I'm going to go look at faucets in person so I know exactly what I'm getting this time.
This was purchased to replace a 30-year-old cold water drinking faucet. I was afraid it wouldn't fit and I'd have to rush to the hardware store. Well, it didn't quite match up, but APEC was kind enough to include everything I needed to get the connection up and running without any leaks. They deserve a big thank you from me, especially since the nearest place to get plumbing parts is 40 miles away. In terms of the faucet itself, everyone thinks it's a significant improvement. The discharge pipe is a little wobbly and isn't as sturdy as the one it replaced, but it doesn't leak unless you pull on it. The valve can only leak what is in the discharge pipe once it is closed, and the design makes replacing the O-ring simple. If it ever leaks, ring in the future. Maybe make the O- a little bigger. If the fit isn't right, give us a call. There is no leakage when the valve closes. Overall, I wouldn't hesitate to purchase from them again.
This faucet is far superior to our previous one in terms of quality. Our new sink is brushed stainless steel, and this faucet's finish matches perfectly. The valve is smooth to operate, and you don't have to manually hold it open to dispense water. It includes everything you'll need to connect 1/4-inch tubing, which can be found at any hardware or home improvement store.
For $10, I got a brand new item. It really works. My previous handle was an older style that required me to manually hold or push up or down in order for water to flow. I had small wrenches and pliers on hand, but because of the space under my sink, could only turn the nut less than a quarter turn for each turn. If you buy the correct tool (their long wrench), this will save you some effort and time.
