Questions & Answers

This also acts as a stopper, isn't it?

I do not believe that this is a deal breaker. However, the bathtub has its own stopper as well.

Can you tell me where this is ?

This item is made

Are small grains like rice, couscous, and other small grains allowed through or is it all stopped?

Except for perhaps the smallest particles, which do not affect drainage in any way (because they get easily pushed through the drainage system), it stops almost everything except particles as small as 1 micron to 2 microns.

Do you think this fits in a 2? Does your sink hole measure 5" deep? Is the size of the drain part, rim, and height of the drain part, exactly as it is?

It is approximately 2 inches wide at the bottom of the basket. A 2 could not contain a 7" so I couldn't put this I'm sad to say that sink holes are 5" wide.

But it is not the best idea
3/5

This strainer sounds like a great idea, and I love the way it functions. While the basket catches the food particles well and the perforated stem allows water to still go down without clogging, I have noticed that the flexible stem stands taller than the edges of the basket, resulting in the stem being bent downward in the center when dishes are put in the sink. Within the first week of owning it, I had a tear in the stem material because I had to pull the stem back up. To drain the excess water from the stem, the stem must be taller. As the stem gets pushed into the basket, the stainer isn't as effective and bigger particles of food are able to pass through the larger holes on top of the stem. It's too bad this stem moves so much.

It is draining
5/5

What you see here is what I paid for! That's too bad. It stands out, but the price is high. I guess that it's worth it for what it does and how long it lasts. Over the years, I've used several drain strainers and I thought it might be time to purchase a better designed one.
- The wand fits in my drain (which is a little large because it has a disposal), although it does wiggle around. Please be patient. There's no problem with it draining, and it drains when you put it full as it says (currently full of rice). I really like that the middle plug sticks up so you don't jam it up. Please be patient. This product seems to be of high quality. My silicone ones tend to mold if they fall apart or fall apart. I'll certainly edit this if they fall apart or moldy. If I let the black center build-up, it might make the whole thing look ugly Please be patient. When your basket is full, simply dump it, but be aware that you might have to touch the waste at first. Is that good? According to my experience so It will be interesting to see if it is worth the price. I have advised The six months are going well and I'm still in love with There is zero mold in any way. I definitely felt like the money was well spent! Perhaps I'll get one for the sink I don't use just as a show of support (some people complain that the plastic center gets squished while using the sink). Water in a stockpot will keep it warm if you leave it there while it is full- Is it the constant dumping of heavy dishes in the sink that is so disturbing? Resets to its original position with no problem.

I can't believe how much this strainer has changed my life
5/5

For some reason, none of the adult members of my household know how to empty my strainer. I have four adult children who live with me (the mom) as well. As long as they take out the garbage, cook, and clean up after themselves, I can let them do all the grunt work that I really don't like to do. Now I'd like to focus on this wonderful invention. The sink strainers I have in my life have all either broken or the little pop-ups have broken together. I am in my 60's, so I have gone through plenty of strainers in my life. It is not possible for the up part to stay up. This is particularly true when one has several pots that have been soaking in the sink. The little bugger in the sink drain, mounting rubber bands on that pop-up, forging rubber bands around it-- it doesn't seem so big, but every day I have to clean it out, try to keep it upright, and keep it from falling into the sink. I spent the next half hour soaking them in some nice soap and rinse them off, but by this time, they were really gross from all of the stuff I'm trying to avoid going down the drain. It was then that I came across The price I paid for this sink drain was about three times that of the others, but I needed to buy something in order to reach my 'minimum' for free shipping, and this fit the bill. It has been about two weeks since I made the change and yes, it has changed my life for the better. As soon as my kids are awake in the morning (usually after cooking and such a long night) I expect little chaos I usually clean up their mess and then empty it in the morning before I get up, then there are my SinkRams. The bucket is half filled with food pieces, but it easily empties! The wet mess won't ruin your day. An easy flick into the trash can is all it takes. I rejoice! Hallelujah! In related news, I did notice the middle piece was a little misshapen one morning, probably from making contact with one of my cast iron skillets, but I just needed to gently push it back into shape. It's important to get this if you are the 'grownup' in your family that does this particular chore every day! Spend a little on your sanity and you'll be glad you did.

It is the best sink strainer I have ever used
5/5

A garbage disposal is not an option for someone on a septic system. Thus, sink strainers have always been an integral part of our everyday life. It has been my pleasure to deal with many different ones over the years. Yet, this is by far and away the best strategy I've ever employed. In other words, the holes are sized in such a way that the tiny, meaningless stuff can pass The design ensures that it drains even when filled with gunk, and it does so quite well. won't accidentally allow gunk to pass through the drain, which could clog it. It's hard to describe how wonderful this is at the end of the day. You can check it out for yourself if you have the cash. This will be a great experience for you.

I am speechless
5/5

Incorporates the following What a great purchase! I'm so happy I got it! The strainer/stoppers I had were frustrating to me. You load it up with food and the water stops flowing through and you have to reach your hand in there to unload it. There is a slight movement of the stoppers and they begin So I plan to buy another because I have a double sink, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

This is a fantastic idea
3/5

I have never seen such a horrible I would advise you not to purchase! There is a high probability it will break! This ring was completely useless before! In hindsight, I wish the company had spent a little bit more on the manufacturing and construction, and I would have purchased additional sinks to replace those I already have in my It would have been better for me to What a disappointment!.

There is a tendency for the middle handle to stick up a little
4/5

The only thing that keeps it from being perfect is the fact that the center handle sticks out just a bit above the level of the strainer. I had to purchase a separate sink protector that fits my sink so that when I put pots and pans on the middle black part of the sink, it will minimize the chance of them hitting my kitchen mushroom, since the black part of the sink will raise a bit above the mushroom.
