Because this item is made of plastic, I don't believe it will hold up to the weight of your marble handle.
I believe the distance was between 3/4" and 11/4", but I didn't measure it; instead, I found the center and installed it.

I purchased a wall-mount shower set, but the holder that came with it was oddly small. I started looking for the biggest one I could find everywhere, and after months of searching, I settled on this one. Oh, well. This one was too small to completely encircle the shower handle. Only the very bottom of the handle fits, and the shower wiggles badly as a result. The plastic has a metallic appearance, which I like.
I used a diverter at the shower arm to add a Jacklo hand spray to my shower. I ordered this wall bracket because the one that came with my Jaklo kit was missing. I was concerned that the handle would not fit properly with the wall bracket, but it does, and the wall bracket has two positions where the hand shower can be held. One is vertically upright, while the other is at a 45-degree angle. br>It appears that the polished brass finish is adequate.
This was purchased for a customer and will be installed by me. I had no idea it was made out of a light, plastic-like material. However, everything should be fine.
I bought it to go with my shower holder. For a shorter person, I needed something a little lower than where the shower head is normally placed, and this fits the bill perfectly. It went together well with my shower head and was simple to install. The hose can be inserted into one of two spaces: one in front of the other, and one behind the other.
As stated previously.
It's made of plastic rather than metal.
This isn't brass; it's plastic with a faux-brass finish. Making one is likely to cost under 50 cents.
