If it's the same product I bought, it's a custom cut that starts at 10 sq. ft. Continue to 323 sq. ft. in size. ft. Kerdi membrane in smaller rolls or pieces is difficult to come by, and you may not always require a large quantity. I calculated how many square feet there are in each room. ft. I told the company what I needed, and they made a custom cut for me. Unless otherwise specified, the width of the roll remains constant. My order was for a 20-square-foot piece with a three-dimensional design. 3 ft wide by 6 ft long 1 ft. long. It was convenient to be able to order exactly what I wanted. I didn't realize the membrane came with the shower pan I purchased because I was new to the Kerdi system, so I purchased the smaller piece. I believe I will be able to return to this company if necessary, but I will most likely keep it.
Yes, it is watertight. I'm not sure how long it would last. I suppose being buried under a good layer of soil and landscaping material like bark or gravel would be similar to being protected from puncture by thinset and tile, but the main question would be cost. This stuff is a little on the pricey side. You might be able to find a less expensive alternative.

ever. I really liked the Kerdi membrane that was used to waterproof the tiles. There will be no need to cut any more dusty cement or tough back boards. The basic idea is to provide a waterproof membrane to a wet area covered in tiles, and it accomplishes this goal. I "glued" this membrane to a structured wall with unmodified mortar, then returned the next day to tile the wall (with the same brand of unmodified mortar) and grout in the late afternoon. Done! br>br>It can be used in the shower pan as well as the shower wall, but the best application I've done so far is in the shower pan. Installing tiles on the kitchen backsplash is a task that needs to be done over and over. With unmodified mortar, I can frequently complete this task in a 12-hour day. br>br>I would recommend this product, and I have already done so to several friends in the industry, who have all raved about it.
Great shower system that requires a little effort on the part of the DIYer but is not impossible. The product's high quality is also obvious.
I watched some videos and it appeared to be a simple task. It takes time, patience, and practice, and it's not for the faint of heart; however, if you have prior experience, that's an advantage.
It was convenient to be able to buy the entire quantity I required on a single roll.
The delivery was prompt.
